Lloyd L. Franklin, 72, Quaker Hill, CT, died Aug. 3 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in New London, CT, where he had been admitted after suffering a stroke. He was the son of the late John and Ethel Franklin of Oak Grove Community, Pleasants County.

He served in the Coast Guard for 30 years, retiring in 1967. After his discharge, he worked at Connecticut College in accounting administration until his retirement in 1977.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Cavanaugh Franklin; three sons, Lloyd of East Lyme, CT, Gregory of New Britain, CT, and Michael of Stonington, CT; one daughter, Mary Beth Foley of Oakdale, CT; two sisters, Inez Wingrove, Piedmont, OH, and Evelyn Childers, Follansbee; one brother, Virgil Franklin of Follansbee; and three grandchildren.

Services were held at the Thomas L. Neilan and Sons Funeral Home in New London, CT. Burial with military honors was held in Arlington National  Cemetery, Arlington, VA, on Aug. (Unreadable).
