Ellis A. Kinneer, 92, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Acme, died Sunday, April 27, 1997, in Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born Oct. 18, 1904, at Black Lick, Pa., a son of the late
Emory and Catherine Wingrove Kinneer. He was a retired coal miner having been employed at various coal mines throughout the area. He was a member of the
UMWA, the Bullskin Township Senior Citizens, and Mt. Joy Church of the Brethren. In addition to his parents, he
was preceded in death by his first wife of 51 years, Bertha Zimmerman Kinneer, his second wife,
Virginia Williams Moore Kinneer; a brother, Elgie Kinneer, two infant brothers,
Clarence and Ray Kinneer; and two sisters, Nellie Murray and
Ethel Hudkins. He is survived by a son, Donald 'Harold' Kinneer and his wife,
Lois of Hurricane, W. Va.; two daughters, Dorothy Gowton and Mrs.
Carmen (Wilma) Nini, both of Morrisville, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Herbert (Norma) Foreman of Acme, 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four brothers,
Clifford Kinneer of Acme, J.D. Kinneer of Jones Mills, Orville Kinneer of Alverton and
Charles Kinneer of Connellsville RD2; four sisters, Mrs. Harr (Bernetha) Coffman of Champion,
Ora Miller of Scottdale, Netta Beula Kreinbrook of Coraopolis, Pa., and
Evadell Kreinbrook of Laurelville; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 East Washington St., Mt. Pleasant, Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr.
Terry V. Murray officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Joy Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township.
