Earl A. Conner

Earl A  Conner, 78, of Oak Hill (WV), died Aug. 22, 2003, at Raleigh General Hospital following a short illness.

Born Jan. 1, 1925, at Scarbro, he was the son of the late Andrew Jackson Conner and Emily Jane Forbes Conner. He also was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Conner was retired from Union Carbide as head tapper. He loved family, hunting, fishing and camping and was in the U.S. Army World War II and was a POW.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Dora J. Wingrove Conner of Oak Hill; a son, Danny Earl Conner and wife, Joyce, of Oak Hill; a daughter, Linda Sanson and husband, Lewis, of Oak Hill; a granddaughter, Donna O'Hara and husband, Dustin, of Martinsburg; a brother, Norman Conner and wife, Hazel, of Oak Hill; and a sister, Helen Burton and husband, Lester, of Jackson, Mich.

Service was Aug. 25 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, with the Rev. Delmas Wolfe and the Rev. Bruce Johnson officiating. Entombment followed in High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill.
