Helen I Wingrove

   

Helen I Wingrove, 92, of Waverly passed away April 26, 2007, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born Dec. 26, 1914, in Iowa, a daughter of the late Logan and Nora Ethel Stephens Carpenter.

Helen was a long time member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, where she had been active in the ladies auxiliary. She retired from Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital Nursing Division, was a former employee of American Viscose and enjoyed quilting.

Surviving is her son, James E. Wingrove and  wife, Sharon, of Waverly; three daughters, Margaret Huggins of Williamstown, Shirley 
Flesher and husband, John, of Waverly and Peggy Baileys and husband, Denny, of Parkersburg; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jim Carpenter and wife, Resi, of Parkersburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Clarence E. Wingrove in 1997; a brother, Joe Carpenter; and a sister, Nellie  Phillips.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St., Parkersburg, with Pastor Wayne Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery on Bull Run near Waverly. Visitation will be 4-8 pm today at the funeral home.

The family asks that memorial donations be made to the Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery, 233 Kevina Ridge Road, Waverly, WV 26184.
