Agnes 'Granny MC' McDaniel

Agnes Conner "Granny MC" McDaniel, 86, of Stanaford, died Monday, Nov. 9, 1998, at her home following a long illness.  Born Oct. 1, 1912, at Sandstone, she was the daughter of the late Enos Joseph and Mary Elizabeth Bryant Conner.

    Mrs. McDaniel was a homemaker, a member of Piney View Bible Church and Women of the Moose. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Jerome McDaniel; a daughter, Margaret Ann McDaniel; four sisters, Pearl Agnew, Elizabeth Wright, Alice Beck and Grace Kisner; and three brothers, Jim, Dale, and Lawrence Conner.

    Survivors include six sons, Harold McDaniel and his wife, Paula, of Glen Morgan, Jerry McDaniel of Stanaford, Gary McDaniel and his wife, Gail, of Graham, N.C., Darrell McDaniel and his wife, Dreama, of Stanaford, Bill McDaniel and his wife, Frances, of Mount Hope, and Jeff McDaniel of Scarbro; five daughters, Lois Meade of Stanaford, Mary Etta Meadows and her husband, Pete, of Piney View, Betty Snodgrass and her husband, Woody, of Rockyridge, Md., Sandra Wingrove and her husband, Wayne, of Long Branch, and Patty Fox and her husband, Wayne, of Piney View; 23 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. 

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Beckley, with the Rev. Cecil Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.  Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements by Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley.
