The information on Wingrove families in Canada have been broken down by province
It should be noted that immigration into Canada before 1900 was primarily via ports in Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia. The exception to this would be United Empire Loyalists that may have fled the United States into areas of Canada.
Pre-1900's
The primary Wingrove presence in Canada is traced to a single Wingrove family from Northamptonshire England. Family lore has long suggested this was St Ledgers, I have not been able to find any factual references to this locale. The families could very well be from the Moulton area of Northamptonshire as well . They arrived in the Province of Ontario in the 1832 most staying for a time in St. Catherines and Flamborough East - their story starts here
Some family members of this group also moved into Michigan, Illinois and Alberta
1900's On
After the 1900's Wingrove families also from England appear in British Columbia and the prairie provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan and a single entry for Newfoundland
