Charles Wesley Wingrove
The death of Charles Wesley Wingrove occurred on December 1 at his
residence on Lisgar Avenue in Tillsonburg [Ontario]. He had been in ill health
for several years and had taken several strokes, the last one but a few days before he died.
The deceased was born at Stoney Creek 77 years ago, and later lived near
Langton for many years, then near Glen Meyer, and finally moved to a farm two miles south of
Tillsonburg. He left the farm two years ago to
reside in town. He has been a respected and well-liked member of the
community and will be missed by his many friends and neighbors.
The funeral took place on Monday, December 3, with service in the Gospel
Hall and interment in the Tillsonburg Cemetery.
Several floral tributes were presented: a wreath by the family, sprays
by Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Wingrove, Mr. and Mrs.
Fred Sage, Mr. and Mrs.
Arthur Wingrove and family of Detroit, Dr. and Mrs.
James McDonald of
Huntsville, and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Harrison.
He leaves to mourn his wife; 3 sons, Arthur,
Bruce, and Eugene; 1
daughter, Mrs. Fred Sage; 3 sisters in Ogden, Utah, Miss
Sarah Wingrove,
Miss Ada Wingrove, and Mrs. Ella
Ellsworth; 3 sisters in Alpena,
Michigan, Mrs. Susie Mathews, Mrs. Rosie Manning, and Mrs. Lily
Polson.
Pallbearers were William Beckett, William Bell, Charles Fisher,
Charles Burwell,
Bert Brooks, and Lorne Collings
