Sarai Jane Wingrove, 1-year-old daughter of Dave and Tina Wingrove of Amarillo, died Monday, June 23, 1997.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Amarillo South Church of Christ with Brad Small officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by
Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St.
Sarai was born in Amarillo and had lived here all her life.
Survivors include her parents; two sisters, her twin Shelby Wingrove and
Alexandra Wingrove, both of the home; grandparents,
Dale and Donna Hess of Amarillo; and great-grandparents,
Kenneth and Opal Wingrove of Electra.

Obituary: NEWPORT
John E. Thomas Sr., 73, of 227 Mulberry St. died Friday in Polyclinic
Medical Center, Harrisburg.
He was retired from the former Penn Central Railroad; was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II; a past commander of American Legion Post 177; a former member, deacon and deacon board chairman, head usher and Sunday School superintendent of First Baptist Church, Scottdale; a member, elder and Sunday school superintendent of Highland Presbyterian Church here; and a member of VFW Post 34, Disabled American Veterans Post 49, Moose Lodge 1562 and the Junior
Order of United American Mechanics. Surviving are his wife, Mabel Artis
Thomas; a son, Henry of Hogestown; six daughters, Alverda Clawson of Scottdale,
Linda Bitting, Ellen White and Beverly Beam, all of Newport,
Darlene Cook of New Buffalo and Joanna Brookhart of Souderton; four sisters,
Alverda Dugger of Scottdale, Ruth Wingrove of New Bedford, Mass., and
Freda Dugger and Reda Weimer, both of Everson; five brothers,
Harry, Henry, Jesse, David and Joseph, all of Scottdale; and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Murphy Funeral Home, Scottdale.
Burial will be in Scottdale Cemetery.

Obituary: Arden H. Van
Norman, 89, who worked for 20 years at Brockway Glass in Brockway, Pa., died Monday (Feb. 21, 2000) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a brief illness. He was born in Brockway and worked for many years as a truck driver for his father's business. He then worked as a laborer at Brockway Glass, retiring in 1975.Van Norman moved to Sanborn in 1976. He was a member of Niagara Community Church, Niagara Falls, and enjoyed gardening. His wife,
Elsie Wingrove Van Norman, died in 1995. Survivors include five daughters,
D. Jean Schmidt of Bergholz, Marge A. Reed and Judy
L. Blakelock, both of the Town of Niagara, Linda J. Arnold of Warner Robins, Ga., and
Nancy M. Schul; a sister, Zona Calhoun of Falls Creek, Pa.; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great- grandchildren.Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton
