At home after a long illness. He was a miner and of the Holiness faith. Surviving: wife, Thelma Bragg Kessler; daughters, Priscilla Suttle of Rainelle, Consewella Wingrove of Beckley; son, Earl Michael of Rainelle; brothers, Dubree Lane of Baltimore, Donald Lane of Meadow Bridge; sisters, Betty Bennett and Shirleen Tucker, both of Rainelle, Rosemary Hammons of Ronceverte, Mildred Owens of Rupert; eight grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. today at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rainelle, with Tacy Black officiating.      died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at University Hospital.
