David and Malissa Wingerter's oldest child, Rudy Andrew, was born October 2, 1874 in Frederick County, Virginia and was a grocer along with his father. Rudy died tragically of spinal-meningitis at age 25 on May 19, 1900, in Winchester, Frederick County, Virginia. He was buried in Mount Hebron Cemetery in Winchester.
