Ada May and Miller Jenkins' fifth child, Frances Anita, was born May 28, 1921 in Winchester, Frederick County, Virginia. Frances married Ellsworth Holmes Newcome (born an only child February 12, 1919 in Frederick County to James William Newcome and Nora Elsie Armel) August 9, 1946 in Winchester.

Frances is remembered as a very pretty woman. She was very kind to my mother and her siblings. She would make sure that when they were kids there were presents for them at Christmas. She started my mother out selling Beauty Counselor cosmetics when my mother was about 16 or 17. When Frances was young, she worked as a bookkeeper for a dress shop owned by Margaret Hodgson. As her children got older, she began selling cosmetics, Sarah Coventry jewelry, vitamins, etc. She was a good saleslady. Frances was kind and affectionate, she would always kiss her mother goodbye. The last night before her mother died, the railing had been put up on the bed and Frances was unable to kiss her goodbye. Her mother passed away before she saw her again.

Frances joined the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Winchester Medical Center. She belonged to other social organizations as well, both the Berryville Women of the Moose Chapter 1537, the Winchester Rebekah Lodge 21, and was treasurer for Ki-Wives International. She also belonged to the Macedonia United Methodist Church. Her husband Holmes was a member of Company 115, 11th Battalion, Virginia Protective Force (Winchester's Home Guard unit from 1942-1946).

Holmes died of cancer December 29, 1974 in Winchester. He was buried December 31 in the Macedonia Church Cemetery in Frederick County. Frances died at age 64 of cancer. She died at her home, 1309 Valley Avenue in Winchester, on July 16, 1985. She was buried July 18, 1985 in the Macedonia Church Cemetery.

Frances had 2 daughters, both of whom are still living.
