Hello there! Here's a little bit about me. I am third
in a family of 5 children, the younger of two girls. My family is LDS (mormon)
so genealogy has always been important. At a fairly young age we would
fill out a pedigree chart, family group sheet, or write in a journal for
a family activity or in church. In addition, my grandmother Dellitt Lockhart
was an avid genealogist. (She was even featured in the Church News for
her contributions.) Most of the information I have on my mother's line
is due to her hard work (the lady did not sleep. I visited her once and
we stayed up til 4 am while she showed me the line she was working on.
She was up again at 6 and never slowed down. This was when she was in her
late 80's!) As an undergraduate, I took a course on genealogy, which was
very helpful. I'd highly recommend classes or workshops for anyone just
getting started in genealogy research.
I just began seriously researching my genealogy in late
September 1999. It just hit me one day and it was like I was possessed,
I didn't sleep at all that night, I just researched. I'm sure many others
interested in genealogy can identify. I was initially interested in finding
out more about Barbara Dellit, the ancestor for whom my grandmother was
named. However, I am currently focusing on the Wingerter line as I have
more clues to go on with the Wingerters at present.
I have not had much time in the last year to research the Wingerters, and for the most part, what I do search turns up nothing. However, I am now in contact with a descendant of Addison Kline (son of Fanny Wingerter, grandson of John Wingerter, and great-grandson of Peter Wingerter). I hope to add more about that branch of the family as soon as I can. I have also been very fortunate to make contact with other distant relatives on other lines of my ancestry. It is truly amazing how this puzzle works. Should you have a piece, I'd love to hear from you. My email links should work now, I know they weren't at first. Ooops! I'm learning as I go. This is the only page I'm typing the html for via Notepad. I found Netscape Composer so easy, even if it does constrict me some.
