CORALVILLE -- Rose M. Kintz, 74, of 818 14th Ave., died Tuesday, June 16, 2003, in Mercy Iowa City after a lengthy illness. Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Lensing's Oak Hill, Coralville. Burial: West Branch Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lensing's Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Rd., Coralville.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Iowa City, First Assembly of God, Cedar Rapids, or Nations Worship Center, Iowa City.

Rose was born Sept. 28, 1928, in Barnesville, Minn., the daughter of Hubert and Christina (Lander) Grommesh. She earned her B.S. degree in food and nutrition from North Dakota State-Fargo. On July 11, 1958, she was united in marriage to Roy Kintz. They have lived in the Iowa City/Coralville area since 1959. She worked as a dietician. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church of Cedar Rapids, Catholic Daughters of America and the Craft Guild.

She is survived by her husband, Roy; two sons, John Kintz and wife Cathy and Wayne Kintz, both of Coralville; two grandchildren, Julie Kintz and John Kintz and wife Cherise; and a great-grandson, Shawn. She is also survived by two brothers, Ralph and Mark Grommesh, both of Barnesville, Minn.; a sister, Lucy Grommesh of Muscatine; a niece, Jennifer Paolinelli of Elgin, Ill.; and a sister-in-law, Irene Grommesh of Fargo, N.D.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Marcella Peterson; and a brother, Joseph Grommesh.
