...He [Henry F. Klostermeier] married at Atchison in September, 1886, Miss Mary Weik, a native of Atchison County. Her father, Christ Weik, came from Wurttemberg, Germany, and settled on a farm northwest of Atchison. He was a Union soldier in the Civil war. Mrs. Klostermeier was born in 1863 and was one of a family of six daughters and one son, the others being Mrs. Lizzie Hagen, Mrs. Carrie Miller, Mrs. Dora Stevens, Mrs. Lydia Hecklenkemper, Mrs. Rosa Graves, and John Weik....

Mrs. Rosina Thaden, age 65, mother of J.H. Thaden, died at 2:15 this afternoon at the home of her son-in-law, John Zschoche, 620 North Eleventh. Death was caused by obstruction of the bowels, after an illness of over a month. Mrs. Thaden had lived in Atchison since 1878. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.

The funeral of Mrs. Rosina Thaden, who died yesterday at the home of her son-in-law, John Zschoche, will be held from the German Lutheran Church, at Eighth and Laramie streets tomorrow afternoon at 2:30. The will be a short service at the house at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Bundenthal officiating. Interment in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
Mrs. Zschoche, a daughter of Mrs. Thaden, died seven years ago, since which time she had kept house for his two sons. J.H. Thaden was the deceased's only son.
Following are the pall bearers: Julius Kaaz, Albert Tschorn, Henry Braun, Gus Kouvary, G.H.T. Schaefer, and Wm. Klostermeier.

CHRISTIAN WEIK DEAD
An old and Respected Citizen of Atchison County

Christian Weik, one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of Atchison county, died this morning at 9 o'clock, at his home 10 miles northwest of Atchison on the Good Intent road. The deceased was 73 years of age and death was due to old age and a complication of diseases. He leaves a widow, six daughters, one son and two step-sons. The names of the daughters are Mrs. August Hagen, Mrs. Henry Klostermeier of Atchison, Mrs. R. Mueller of Stillwater, Okla., Mrs. M.L. Stephens of Atchison, Mrs. Ira Graves of Effingham, and Mrs. Gus Hekelnkaemper of Atchison. The son is John Weik and the step-sons are William and Otto Glaman. J.H. Thaden of Atchison, is a nephew of the deceased.
The remains will be brought to Atchison tomorrow and taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Klostermeier, the funeral occurring Sunday afternoon from the German Lutheran church, Rev. Bundenthall officiating and the interment being in Mount Vernon.
The deceased was born in Wurtenberg, Germany, and came in one of the old sailing vessels to America in 1854, coming direct to Atchison county at that time. [previously lived in MO and Doniphan Co, KS] He was a successful farmer and a man who will be greatly missed in the community in which he lived so long.

Friends of Christian Weik will greatly regret to learn of his death. Mr. Weik died this morning at 9 o'clock at his home northwest of the Good Intent school house. Mr. Weik, who was about 75 years of age, had been in failing health for the last several years. He has been very low since the first of the year, and his death was not unexpected. Mr. Weik was one of the old-timers in Atchison county. He was born in Wittenburg, Germany, but came to Atchison county in 1854. Mr. Weik had many friends who will mourn his loss. He leaves a wife and the following children, who are all here. Mrs. August Hagen, Mrs. Henry Klostermeier, Mrs. M.L. Stevens, Mrs. Gus Hekelnkaemper, of Atchison; Mrs. Rudolph Miller, of Stillwater, Okla.; Mrs. Ira Graves, of Muscotah, and John Weik, who lives on the farm. In addition there are two step-children, Otto and Will Glaemann [Glamann]. Mr. Weik was an uncle of John Thaden, of Atchison. The funeral will be held from the Trinity Lutheran church, Eighth and Laramie streets, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Bundenthal officiating.
