ilhelm (William) Flachsbarth is the ancestor of his generation about whom the least information is known. William was born about 4 Nov 1840 in Germany, possibly Hannover, and may have emigrated to the United States c.1868. He apparently did not come directly to Kansas. The 1875 state census of Kansas shows that he lived in Connecticut before moving to Kansas, however, the same census in 1885 shows Canada. Either or both places could be correct at different times, so suffice it to say that he lived elsewhere in North America prior to settling in Kansas.
