Daily Review on 6/15/2007 Adams, Rose Ann Viall Mrs. Rose Ann Viall Adams, age 59, of Sugar Run, Pa., passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2007, at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Pa., after a courageous battle with cancer. Rose was born on Jan. 16, 1948 in Luthers Mills, Pa., a daughter of the late Richard and Marion Shaffer Viall. She graduated from Wyalusing Valley High School in the class of 1965. She married Robert Adams on Jan. 16, 1976. She was a member of the Hollenback Methodist Church. Rose loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving: Spouse: Robert Adams at home; daughters and son-in-law: Angela and Brian Cook of Monroeton, Pa.; Bobbie Sue Adams and Tom Rogers of Sugar Run, Pa.; sons and daughters-in-law: Guy and Karen Parrish of South Montrose, Pa.; Floyd and Beth Parrish of South Montrose, Pa.; step-daughter and husband: Mallissa and Howard Tice of Herrickville, Pa., step-son and wife: Greg and Theresa Adams of Fort Bragg, N.C., Grandchildren: Katherine Parrish, Emma Parrish, Justin Parrish, Jessica Parrish, Ariana Cook, Destiny Tice, Luke Tice, Dennis Adams, Elka Adams, and Michael Adams. She was predeceased by her sister Crystal Viall. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Hollenback United Methodist Church with the Rev. Diane E. Prentice, officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, Pa. Shirley A. Vanderpool [Parents] was born on 5 Nov 1928 in Towanda, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. She died on 28 Aug 2001 in Elmira, Chemung County, New York. She married Living on 29 Jun 1946.

VANDERPOOL –SHIRLEY A. FINNERTY, 72, wife of Martin Finnerty of Towanda RR 2, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001 at the Arnot Ogden Hospital, Elmira, N.Y., of natural causes. Born Nov. 5, 1928 in Towanda, she was a daughter of the late Cleveland and Bertha Payne Vanderpool Sr. Shirley was a graduate of Towanda High School, class of 1946. On June 25, 1946, she married Martin Finnerty in Towanda. In earlier years, Shirley was employed by the Jennings Nursing Home, and other care homes in Towanda and later was employed by GTE-Sylvania for 23 years. Until the time of her death she was the caring nurse for David Lenington. She was a member of the Towanda Universalist Church, and the Sylvania Women’s Club. Shirley enjoyed playing cards and traveling, having made trips to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Her last days were extremely happy, while on vacation with her daughter, Barbara, on their trip to Australia and New Zealand. Surviving are; her husband, Martin Finnerty, at home; a daughter, Barbara F. Loushay of Marlton, N.J.; a brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Dorothy Vanderpool of Towanda RR 2; a sister-in-law, Josephine Vanderpool of Towanda RR 2; a brother-in-law, Richard Foster of Norwalk, Ohio; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Alan M. Finnerty; a sister, Winifred Foster; and three brothers, Cleveland Vanderpool Jr., Perry Vanderpool and Ralph Vanderpool. The family will receive friends this (Thursday) evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda. For those who wish to remain there will be a brief service at 9 p.m. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Towanda High School Booster Club, 1 Towanda High School drive, Towanda, Pa. in Mrs. Finnerty’s memory. –Towanda Daily Review.

VANDERPOOL –WINIFRED ELLEN FOSTER, 66, wife of Richard Foster of Norwalk, Ohio, formerly of Towanda, passed away Thursday evening, Sept. 3, 1998, at the Mid Central Hospital in Mansfield, Ohio. Born Sept. 25, 1941, in Towanda, she was the daughter of Cleveland A. and Bertha Payne Vanderpool Sr. Winifred attended elementary school in Towanda and was a graduate of Norwalk High School, class of 1948. She was employed by the Fanny Farmer Candy Co. in Norwalk for 26 years until her retirement. Surviving are: her husband, Richard Foster; brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Dorothy Vanderpool of Towanda; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Martin Finnerty of Towanda; a half-brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Sandy Vanderpool of Towanda; stepsisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Richard “Dick” McCracken of Towanda and Cleone and Freeman “Dick” Dixon of Wysox RR 2; stepbrothers and sisters-in-law; Robert and Janet Benjamin of Towanda and William and Laura Benjamin of Towanda; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by; three brothers, Ralph Vanderpool on Feb. 20, 1945, Cleveland Vanderpool Jr., on March 28, 1976 and Perry Vanderpool on Jan. 18, 1987; and a stepsister; Merial Ann Brannen Overpeck on Nov. 26, 1989. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998 at 1 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery, Towanda, with the Rev. Lowell Patton of the Universalist Church, Towanda officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda. There are no calling hours. The family suggests that memorials be directed to the Bradford Unit of the American Cancer Society, 413 S. Main St., Athens, Pa. in Mrs. Foster’s memory. –Towanda Daily Review.
