She was born 29 Dec 1824, Spartanburg Co., SC; died during 1913, Neshoba Co., MS; buried beside Richard and two of their young children. Richard and Susan were engaged when the Scotts moved to Plainville, Floyd Co., GA. Richard joined her there a year later where they married and lived for 6-7 years. In 1854, they moved to Neshoba Co., MS where Richard was overseer of the Hawthorn Plantation and Susan supervised seven negro cooks. He enlisted 17 Sept 1863 as a Pvt. in Co. F, 14 Reg't.
