Notes for Carson Willis: Listed on the 1850 and 1860 census with his parents in Greene Co., TN; He is listed with his family on the 1870 Greene Co., Census. He is on the 1880 Benton Co., AR. Census. On this census, his youngest child, William was born in VA. This may have been on the trip to OK. The 1900 Census reports 7 children born, 6 living.
Carson is buried in Bell Cemetery, Watts, Adair Co., OK in an area surrounded by Bowles and their descendants. There were several sons and daughters of each family that married into the other family. In fact, Carson and Jane's daughter, Margaret married John Longdon Bowles' grandson, Thomas Bowles and after his death, she married Ed Simmons, grandson of John Longdon Bowles from his daughter, Lucy's marriage to Powhatten Simmons.
Notes for Rebecca Jane Dinsomore: Frank Pearce (ggrandson) says that he thinks that Jane lived with Margaret and Ed Simmons near Calera, OK before she died. He doesn't know when that was but does remember that Margaret kept her mother's room intact after she died and that the children were not allowed in the room. I have not been able to confirm this information. Another Willis descendant is attempting to see if his relatives that are still alive (65+ yrs) might know anything about Jane.
