[on file at the Hunterdon County Historical Society (#0018/I-014)] Thomas Lake deed 1767 Hunterdon County, NJ This Indenture this thirty day of December in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Seven Between Thomas Lake of the Township of Amwell in the County of Hunterdon and Province of the Western Division of New Jersey of the one part, and Timothy Buzsart of the same place of the other part; Witnesseth that the said Thomas Lake for and in consideration of the Sum of Two Hundred and Twenty Pounds of good and lawful money to him in hand paid by the said Timothy Buzsart at and before the Sealing and Delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof he the said Thomas Lake doth hereby acknowledge and himself therewith to be fully satisfied contented and paid, and conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth fully freely and absolutely Grant Bargain sell alien? off release assure and confirm unto him the said Timothy Buzsart and to his heirs and assigns forever, all that certain tract or parcel of land situate laying and being in the Township of Amwell in the County of Hunterdon and Province of West New Jersey beginning at a stone corner standing in a line late Andrew Heath's thence south thirty six chains to a stone for a corner standing a line of Thomas Gordon thence by the land of said Gordon along his line east twenty two chains and twenty three links to a stake being a corner of said Gordon's Land Thence along the old line formerly belonging to John Eastback? Thirty Six Chains to a stone being a corner of David Heath's land thence by the Land of the said Heath west twenty two chains and Twenty three links to the first mentioned corner or place of Beginning containing the quantity of eighty acres of Land, And is part of and severed from a large Tract of Land left unto the said Thomas Lake his Heirs and assigns by the last will and testament of Thomas Lake the Father bearing Date the Seventh day of February Anno Dom (1755) doth More at Large appear who purchased the same with other land of and from Thomas Gordon Late of the County of Middlesex in the Corporation of New Brunswick as by Deed Dated April 10th 1745 Together with all and Singular the Woods under Woods Water Watercourses, Mines, Minerals, Houses, Barnes, Stables out houses Buildings fields fences cleared land Meadow ground Swamps Orchards Timber Trees fishing fowling hunting hawking ? ? Profits Priveleges Rents ? Right Title Interest Estate Advantages Commodities Hereditaments and appurtenances unto hereby granted Eighty Acres belonging or in anyways thereunto appertaining with the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders thereof and of every part and parcel thereof or therewith usually used Occupied possessed and Enjoyed Accepted or known to be taken as part parcel and member thereof to have and to hold the said Eighty Acres of Land with all and every of their Appurtenances and and [sic] every part and parcel thereof us above particularly expressed Unto the said Timothy Buzsart his heirs and Assigns and to the only proper use Benefit and behoof of him the said Timothy Buzsart his heirs and assigns forever and the said Thomas Lake for himself his heirs executors Administrators Doth conenant promise grant and agree to and with the said Timothy Buzsart his heirs and assigns in Manner and form following that is to say that notwithstanding any act done or wittingly suffered to be done by him the said Thomas Lake at any time preceding the date of these presents the said Timothy Buzsart his heirs and assigns shall and may from henceforth at all times forever herafter peaceably and quietly have hold use occupy possess and enjoy, the bereby granted land and premises with their and every of their appurtenances with every part and parcel thereof without any lett lust trouble eviction ejection interruption molestation disturbance incumbrance hindrance or denial of him the said Thomas Lake or his heirs or any other person or persons in anyways claiming by from or under him or them according to the purpose true intent and meaning of these presents and further the said Thomas Lake his Heirs Executors Administrators and every of them by these presents the above mentioned tract of land containing Eighty Eighty acres of Land with all and every of their appurtenances and every part and parcel thereof unto him the said Timothy Buzsart his heirs and assigns forever against him the said Thomas Lake his heirs executors Administrators and every one of them or any other person or persons whatsoever claiming or that may at anytime or times herafter claim to have any estate right title interest or demand of into or against the hereby granted and bargained premises with all and every of their appurtenances or any part or parcel thereof as above particularly expressed shall and will warrent and forever defend by these presents and lastly the said Thomas Lake for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth promise coventl grant and agree to and with the said Timothy Buzsart his heirs and assigns that at anytime hereafter upon the request proper cost and charges of him the said Timothy Buzsart his heirs and assigns shall and will sign seal and sufficiently execute and acknowledge or cause or procure to be signed sealed executed and acknowledged all such other and further reasonable deed or deeds assurances conveyances in the law as shall be thought needfull requisite and necessary for the more perfect and better assuring and conveying of the hereby granted and bargained eighty acres of land with all and every of their appurtenances and and [sic] every part and parcel thereof unto the said Timothy Buzsart his heirs and assigns forever as by the said Timothy Buzsart and his heirs and assigns or his or their counsel learned in the law shall be reasonably advised devised or or [sic] required as the said party or parties to whom such request shall be made be to thereby compelled to travel above ten miles from his or their usual residence or place of aboad [sic] for the doing thereof in witness whereof the said Thomas Lake hath to these present indentures set his hand and seal the day and year first above written Signed and delivered his In the presents [sic] of Thomas X Lake Richard Rounsavell mark Richard Rounsavell, Jr.
