   General Notes:

Richard served as a private in Co. C, 12th Kentucky Cavalary, CSA.

He enlisted on Aug. 24, 1863 in West Tenn. as a private. Most of his company surrendered at Selma, AL; however Richard was home on sick leave at the time. Thus he surrendered at Paducah, Ky. in May 1865.
Richard served as pastor of The Old Bethel Primative Baptist church in Graves Co., Ky from 1879 to 1889.

Richard married Tennessee Olivia SLAYDEN, daughter of Abner Wilson SLAYDEN and Olivia McFALL, on 10 Nov 1867 in Graves Co., KY..1 (Tennessee Olivia SLAYDEN was born on 10 Jul 1849 near Holly Springs, Miss., died on 21 Nov 1938 in Fulton Co., KY. and was buried in Boaz Chapel Cemetery, Hickman Co., KY..)
