General Notes:
Ballard was the last of Eleven children born to Josiah Frances Williams and Elizabeth Roberts. As a young man he helped on the family farm raising tobacco and corn.
Around 1916 he left Graves Co. for the oil fields in Anaheim, California. He worked in the oil fields there until 1918 when he returned to Graves Co. and married Lela Pearl Canter on January 12, 1919.
Ballard married Lela Pearl CANTER, daughter of Leenedus Franklin CANTER and Bulah Pearl CALDWELL, on 12 Jan 1919 in Obion Co., TN. (Lela Pearl CANTER was born on 11 Aug 1901 in Graves Co., KY., died on 27 Aug 1975 in McCracken Co. Ky and was buried on 29 Aug 1975 in Cuba Church Of Christ Cemetery, Graves Co., KY. 3.)
