General Notes:
Before 1860 Census John Brown has left Elizabeth and married Synthia Ella Welch and living in Missouri. Arrived in Graves County about 1831, the date her first husband John Bowden is listed in tax lists. Elizabeth Bowden is listed as head of household in the 1839 and 1840 tax lists. She served as a midwife and doctored everybody in the neighborhood.
Elizabeth donated the land for the South Mt. Zion church and cemetery. Listed as Elizabeth Bowden in 1840 Graves County KY Census as head of household.
Elizabeth married John B. BROWN, son of James Bernard BROWN and Polly. (John B. BROWN was born in 1813 in IN. and died in 1867 in Cape Girardeau, MO..)
Elizabeth also married John BOWDEN.
