General Notes:
Luke served as a Private in 2nd Co., 154th Senior Regt., TN. Inf. of the C.S.A. in the Civil War. Enlisted on Apr. 5, 1862 in Somerville, TN. Muster Roll showes he was missing for the Nov. and Dec. muster roll calls and thought to have been captured at Missionary Ridge engagement near Chattanoogna, TN. According to Union list he was captured Nov. 25, 1863, sent to Louisville, KY. on Dec. 7, 1863, then to Rock Island, IL. on Dec. 11, 1863. Released from there on May 16, 1865 after applying for a parole. 2
Luke married Rebecca C. BLAIR, daughter of Alfred BLAIR and Mildred BURFORD, on 20 Jul 1846 in Fayette Co., TN..1 2 (Rebecca C. BLAIR was born on 26 Sep 1820 2 and died on 14 Sep 1905 in Fayette Co., TN. 2.)
