Move: "During an Indian raid that happened in the fall of 1791, John's son, Nathaniel, was sent to walk 60 miles to Lexington, KY to get help... I did a search for Tomlinsons/Tumblesons in Kentucky, and in Greene Co., PA., and came up with the Thurman family. Charles Thurman lived in Greene Co., PA, and one of his daughters, whose name we don't know, married a John Tumbleson. In the late 1700's, the brothers of this Thurman lady, moved to Mason County, KY, and then to Adams Co., OH. Bingo!! I started digging for proof, and found the three Thurman brothers in Mason County, and a John Tumbleson. I even found a court document in Mason County, KY, where Samuel "Tumblestone" took out a 4-year apprenticeship as a blacksmith. I believe the year was 1795. While searching through the Thurman information, I found that they know of John Tumbleson, but don't seem to know where he went or who his decendants are. And here we are, chasing the totally wrong Tumbleson family for our ancestors! There is even a book, "The Thurman's of Adams County, Ohio", that has him listed. I am just so excited to find this information, that I wanted to share. Oh, and our line of Tumbleson's very rarely are listed as Tomlinson. They are more often listed as Tumbleson, Tumblestone, or Tummelson. I am still working hard on this, but so far I think Nathaniel's siblings are; an older brother, John, Samuel (of course) who married Sarah Edgington, Priscilla, who married John Pence in Adams Co., and possibly Polly who married Thomas Ryan in Adams Co. Anyone with any info, please post so that we can get together on this." Georgia Vallejos
