ERWIN

Fannie Erwin, 82, of 630 Travis St., Ranger, died Wednesday [13-Apr-1983] in a Ranger Hospital.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wieland Church of Christ with Delton Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Wieland Cemetery.

Born Nov. 4, 1900 in Hunt County, she was the daughter of Will and Ella Nix Norris. She was married to Fred B. Erwin in 1928 in Cash. Mrs. Erwin was a member of the Church of Christ.

Surviving are a son, Fred Erwin of Ranger; a daughter, Mrs. Rayford Young of Ranger; sisters, Eula Weatherford of Breckenridge, Hattie Smith of Oklahoma, and Erna McCord, Faye Little and Mrs. Maggie Nalls, all of Wieland; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Her husband preceded her in death Feb. 26, 1965. She was also preceded in death by a brother and a grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Mike Young, Dan Young, Steve Young, Larry Erwin, Russell Erwin, and Farrell Nalls.

Coker-Mathews Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.


Erwin Services Set For Sunday

Fred B. Erwin, 63, of the Wieland community, died at 4:30 a.m. Friday [26-Feb-1965] in a Greenville hospital. He was a retired Chance-Vought employee.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Church of Christ in Wieland. Officiating will be Perry Hall and G. W. Weatherford, Church of Christ ministers, and burial will be in the Wieland Cemetery.

Mr. Erwin, who was born Dec. 16, 1901, in Erath County, Tex. was the son of Samuel W. Erwin and Emma Benson Erwin. He was married to Fannie Norris in 1928 in Cash south of Greenville. They moved to the Wieland community from Arlington a year ago.

Long a member of the Church of Christ, Mr. Erwin was a member of the church at Wieland at the time of his death. Besides his widow, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Rayford Young of Arlington; a son, Fred N. Erwin of Santa Monica, Calif.; Mrs. Walter Lavon and Miss Lucille Erwin of Portales, N.M., and Mrs. Lonnie Peek of Pueblo, Colo.; seven grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
