Erwin Services Set For Sunday
Fred B. Erwin, 63, of the Wieland community, died at 4:30 a.m.
Friday [26-Feb-1965] in a Greenville hospital. He was a retired
Chance-Vought employee.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Church of Christ
in Wieland. Officiating will be Perry Hall and G. W. Weatherford,
Church of Christ ministers, and burial will be in the Wieland Cemetery.
Mr. Erwin, who was born Dec. 16, 1901, in Erath County, Tex. was
the son of Samuel W. Erwin and Emma Benson Erwin. He was married
to Fannie Norris in 1928 in Cash south of Greenville. They moved
to the Wieland community from Arlington a year ago.
Long a member of the Church of Christ, Mr. Erwin was a member of
the church at Wieland at the time of his death. Besides his widow,
he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Rayford Young of Arlington; a
son, Fred N. Erwin of Santa Monica, Calif.; Mrs. Walter Lavon and
Miss Lucille Erwin of Portales, N.M., and Mrs. Lonnie Peek of Pueblo,
Colo.; seven grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
