Ross' parents were DeWitt Clinton (1827-1903), and Harriet Miller (1822-1903), He was one of four children. The family attended a Presbyterian church. His father taught school for 40 years. A funny letter Papa wrote to Vieva:		Newark, NJ Aug 10 11-AM '96 Bloomfield Sunday afternoon My Darling Vieva I wonder what you are doing this afternoon. I guess you are down by the ocean on the sand letting the wind blow your hair and with your hands in the sand up to your elbows. Won't you please come to Papa and kiss him - right way now, Vieva.
