It said "Father came here alone before he brought Mother. She came by ox team before the railroad. She brought three trunks full of clothes and a large packing case, a sewing machine and a few other things. My mother was a dressmaker and made her wedding dress and also Alice Goodrich's wedding dress. I think they were alike - I have heard my father tell it.
