SW 1/4 of SE 1/4 of section 13, T102N R6W
Owner of cemetery was Mr. Samuel McPhail founder of the town, set this lot aside for an burial place which is included in the original plat of Caledonia. No deed has ever been recorded. When he sold his holdings sometime later to Maggie Thompson, Mr. Eugene Dorival bought a piece of land from Miss. Thompson and annexed it to the original cemetery lot. This south part (approximately 25 foots frontage) to gather with the street leading up to the cemetery belongs to the Dugene Dorival heirs A.D. Sprague then bought M. Thompson's holdings as if at sometime they should move this cemetery the land goes back to the Sprague heirs.

The first burial made in this cemetery was that of Alexander Bark who was murdered by John and Henry Rippe of Burnsville for not being able to pay for a glass of whiskey, which he drank. He was a young man from Penn. who had worked around the county a few months. he died 26 Feb 1859. Trial records in Clerk of Court's basement vault. However, 1856 is the oldest date of tombstone of Mary Ann Brown, but C.S. Trask says he remembers when A. Burk was burried it was the first grave in this new place.
