Generation No. 1

Alexander Allen was born December 24, 1851in Arkansas, and died September 27, 1915 in Muldrow, Sequoyah County, Oklahoma.  He married Nancy Ann "Adaline" Branson August 1, 1869 in Jasper, Crawford Co., Arkansas.  She was born October 30, 1854 in Canaan, Gasconade County, Missouri, and died Bef. June 1900 probably in Oklahoma.  Nancy was the daughter of William Branson (1804-1898).

The 1880 U.S. Census of Crawford Co., Arkansas indicates that Alexander's mother was born in Tenn.The place of birth of his father is unknown. On the 1910 Census Alexander indicates that his father was born in Vermont and his mother in Georgia.

Mrs. Audra (Allen) Czarnikow, granddaughter of Alexander, stated that Alexander's wife's name was Mary Adeline Branson. I've been unable to find and documentation to support this. All other sources indicate that her name was Nancy Ann.

Montgomery November 19, 1901 in Reney, Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory, daughter of Amanda M. Montgomery.  She was born Abt. 1882.

John Ancil Allen (James A.², Alexander¹) was born June 14, 1894 in Oklahoma, and died August 24, 1965 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  He married Florence Elnore Brewer May 1, 1914 in Crawford Co., Arkansas, daughter of Bryant Brewer and Margaret Adams.  She was born September 24, 1894 in Alma, Crawford Co., Arkansas, and died April 13, 1977 in Van Buren, Crawford Co., Arkansas.

John Ancil Allen was probably murdered by an unknown assailant during a burglary of his apartment in Oklahoma City. His death certificate lists "natural causes" as cause of death but detectives investigated it as a homicide. He is buried in the Gracemont Cemetery, Gracemont, Oklahoma.

Eric Allen (John W.², Alexander¹) was born Abt. 1916 in Oklahoma, and died October 1986 in Liberty, Oklahoma.  He married Mildred Abt. 1940. 

Eric Allen was a nationally known novelist and Fort Smith newspaperman. He was the author of several western novels and short stories. The most recent of his 30 novels was"Smoke in the Wind." It was adapted from the 1971 motion picture by the same name, for which he wrote the screenplay. Eric resided in the Liberty, Okla., community with his wife, Mildred.

John Virgil Allen (John Ancil³, James A.², Alexander¹) was born February 9, 1915 in Rudy, Crawford County, Arkansas, and died January 13, 1993 in Hillsboro, Oregon.  He married Velma Young October 22, 1938 in Van Buren, Crawford County, Arkansas, daughter of Albert Young and Eva Young.  She was born August 4, 1920 in Dardenell, Arkansas. John Virgil Allen is buried in the Union Point Cemetery, at Banks, Oregon.

James Robert Allen (John Ancil³, James A.², Alexander¹) was born February 4, 1921 in Crawford Co., Ark., and died August 14, 1978 in Fort Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas.  He married (1) Jessie Myers Dodson.    He married (2) Reba Jean Vonlondingham June 15, 1940 in Van Buren, Crawford County, Arkansas.  She was born February 10, 1923, and died January 28, 1946 in Booneville, Logan County, Arkansas.  He married (3) Stella Mae Crain Absure Aft. 1946 in Probably Fort Smith, Arkansas. 

(James) Robert was a veteran of WWII. He is buried in the Nation Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Reba Jean is buried in the Grace Lawn Cemetery, Van Buren, Crawford County, Arkansas. She died of Tuberculosis.

Bonnie Delois Allen (John Ancil³, James A.², Alexander¹)   was born May 28, 1924 in Rudy, Crawford Co., Arkansas, and died November 16, 1991 in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Arkansas.  She married (1) Elmer Rusher Abt. 1943 in Crawford Co., Arkansas.    She met (2) Johnnie Yazujion 1943 in Van Buren, Ark..  He was born Abt. 1913 in Turkey, and died January 1983 in Queens, New York.  She married (3) Wayne B. Whitsett July 14, 1945 in Van Buren, Crawford Co., Arkanas, son of James Whitsett and Hessie Barrett.  He was born July 1, 1920 in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Arkansas, and died June 20, 1989 in Van Buren, Crawford County, Arkansas.  She married (4) Edward Miller January 21, 1947 in Van Buren, Crawford Co., Ark., son of Joseph Miller and Maud Nichols.  He was born June 3, 1921 in Cass, Franklin Co., Ark., and died July 24, 1982 in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ark..

(Bonnie Delois) "Lois" died of cancer of lungs and brain. She was a housewife and resided at the time of her death in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Elmer Rusher was married to Bonnie when daughter Belva Kay was born but he was not Belva's natural father. However, Elmer's name is on Belva's birth certificate. Johnnie Yazujion, Belva's father, was stationed at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas during WWII when he and Bonnie were together (they were not married). He emmigrated from Turkey to U.S. at age 9 and was ethnic Armenian. Belva did not know who her real father was until after the death of Lois. Wayne B. Whitsett was a minister of Assembly of God churches for many years. He became a minister after he a Lois were divorced. Wayne died of heart disease and cancer. He Resided in Crawford Co., Arkansas.

Edward Miller enlisted in the USMC, in Little Rock, Ark., on August 16, 1941. He saw action in Guadalcanal 1/4/43 - 2/19/43; Tarawa Atoll; 11/20/43 - 11/23/43; Saipan 6/15/44 - 7/8/44; Tinian 7/25/44 - 8/1/44; At the end of the war his rank was Corporal. He was discharged at Norfolk, Virginia, January 5, 1945. Ed died of emphysema and heart disease. At the time of his death he resided in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Fred Rudolf Allen (John Ancil³, James A.², Alexander¹) was born January 1, 1927 in Rudy, Crawford Co., Arkansas, and died January 4, 2001 in Fort Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas.  He married Corrine Jane McGee in Van Buren, Crawford County, Arkansas, daughter of Andrew McGee and Altie Rogers.  Fred Rudolf Allen was given the nickname "Billie" in honor of his Uncle William A. Brewer. He is buried in the Lowes Creek Cemetery, Franklin County, Arkansas

 Jerry Don Allen (James Robert⁴, John Ancil³, James A.², Alexander¹) was born April 12, 1941 in Van Buren, Crawford Co., Ark, and died May 12, 1994 in Van Buren, Crawford Co., Ark.  He married Mary Francis Dodson February 6, 1960 in Van Buren, Crawford Co., Ark., daughter of Earnie Dodson and Edna Dodson.  She was born in Van Buren, Crawford Co., Ark.

Jerry Don was the author of "The Adventures of Jimmy Poole," published by Dillon Press, Inc., Minneapolis. The book is the story of boyhood adventure on the Arkansas River, starting at a town called Riverside (actually Van Buren, Jerry Don's home town) and continuing about 35 miles down river. Jerry Don started making up stories when he was in grade school, and wrote for years for his own amusement.  Jerry Don Allen is buried in the Morris Cemetery, Crawford County, Arkansas. He died of cancer.

She married (2) Yale Parkhurst in Fort Smith, Ark..    She married (3) Joe Sexton.    She married (4) Alfred "Sonny" Overstreet in Fort Smith, Ark..  He was born October 15, 1923, and died March 13, 1991 in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ark.. She married married (5) Jerry Lee Lewis.

Christene Miller (Bonnie Delois⁴ Allen, John Ancil³, James A.², Alexander¹) married Jerry Jones in Fort Smith, Arkansas, son of Garland Jones and Ila Kidd.

Jerry Jones served with the US Navy in Vietnam. He later joined the US Army Reserve. In December 1990 He was sent to Saudi Arabia for Operation Desert Storm. He fought in Kuwait and Iraq. Jerry returned from Iraq in April 1991. He was an artillery spotter. He captured an Iragi flag from enemy bunker. Jerry is a welder, mechanic, truck driver, and farmer.
