  General Notes:

According to Hal Whitmore: This Thomas Whittamore, senior, of Hitchin had at least two brothers, (he mentions both of them in his will) William and Roland. He also mentions two "cousins", Thomas and Roger, which Derek Whitmore and I believe -- and others have claimed -- are the sons of his brother William. (Nephews and nieces were often called "cousins" at that time.) Thomas the son of William is the father of Thomas the immigrant.
