BARRETT, ARTHUR L.
Curwensville – Funeral services for Arthur LeRoy
Barrett, 88, a resident of Marion Manor II and formerly of Ross Road,
Curwensville, who died Monday, Sept. 19, 2005, at Marion Manor, will be
held at Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc., Curwensville, Saturday at
11 a.m. The Rev. William Michael will officiate. Interment will be held
at LaJose Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home Friday
from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of
services at 11 a.m. Born Sept. 22, 1916, at Lumber City, he was a son of
Sainer and Martha (Williams ) Barrett. He was a member of Newburg
Baptist Church, LaJose. Mr. Barrett was a marine electric welder at
Baltimore before serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After
World War II, he returned to Kerrmoor, where he and his wife operated
the dairy farm, the sold eggs and chickens throughout central Clearfield
County. On June 22, 1940, he wed Martha B. Young, who preceded him in
death April 1, 2005. Mr. Barrett is survived by a sister, Mrs. Sara Lash
of Fredericksburg, Va.; several nieces and nephews, which include
Barbara Tubbs and her husband, Gene, of Curwensville, and Emma J. Horton
and her husband, Curtis, of State College; grandnieces and grandnephews,
Betsy Linsenbigler of Stronach, Lindy Baker and her husband, Kurt, of
State College, Tonda Beard and her husband, Douglas, of Kerrmoor, Jackie
Densmore and her husband, Michael, of Leesburg, Va., Kirk Whitaker and
his wife, Jane, of Boalsburg, and David Linsenbigler of Curwensville.
Also surviving is his extended family, Bill and Teresa Freyer and their
children and grandchildren of Kerrmooor, Earl and Joyce Freyer and their
children of Kerrmoor, and Timothy and Sarah Gallagher of their children
of Curwensville. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and
two brothers, Paul Barrett and Lynn Barrett.
BARRETT, HARRY W.
LaJose – Services for Harry W. "Woody"
Barrett, 77, of LaJose RD1 will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the T. G.
McCracken Funeral Home, Mahaffey, with the Revs. James Clinton and
Timothy Spencer officiating. Interment will be in the LaJose Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. tomorrow and until time
of service Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Barrett died Wednesday,
Jan. 31, 1996, at his residence. Born Sept. 25, 1918, in Ferguson
Township, he was a son of Lewis and Vera (Oaks) Barrett. Mr. Barrett was
retired from the Benjamin Coal Co. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World
War II. Mr. Barrett was a former member of the Baptist Church in Marron
and a former member of Mahaffey VFW Post 8709. He is survived by his
wife, Effie (Thurston) Barrett, whom he married Nov. 16, 1940; four
daughters, Shirley Van Blargon of Maines City, Fla., Joan Knouse of
Altoona, Susan Savannah of Butler and Christine Jacobs of Madera; three
sons, Lawrence "Pete" Barrett of Kissimmee, Fla., Rodney
Barrett of Maines City and Douglas Barrett of LaJose. Also surviving are
11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild;
two sisters, Emma Turner of LaJose RD and Nellie Stitt of Latrobe; three
brothers, Lewis "Red" Barrett of Niagara Falls, N.Y., Blaine
Barrett of Madera and Dean Barrett of LaJose RD; and a number of nieces
and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Debra
May Barrett, on Dec. 25, 1970; four sisters, Arlene Kester, Mary Bloom,
Ruby Barrett and Dorothy Barrett; and three brothers, Roy, Clair and
Billy Barrett.
BARRETT, HOWARD G.
Kerrmoor - Howard G. Barrett, 78, of 1100 Candlewood
Road, Elgin, Ill., a native of Kerrmoor, died at his home Tuesday, April
27 at 12:15 a.m. He was born in Kerrmoor May 14, 1897, the son of George
W. and Martha (Wood) Barrett. Mr. Barrett was a retired employee of the
Hawthorne, Ill. plant of Western Electric. He was a member of St.
Charles Episcopal Church, St. Charles, Ill.; Unity Lodge No. 48
F&AM, Medina Temple, Chicago; Fox Valley Shrine Club, St. Charles,
Ill., and the American Legion of St. Charles. He was a veteran of World
War I. Survivors include his wife, the former Pauline Burdy; a
step-daughter, Mrs. Mary McKoom, Nauvoo, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Alice B.
Belford, Clearfield; a brother, Ivan C. Barrett of Detroit, Mich.; four
nieces and nephews. His first wife, Gless Marques Barrett; and an infant
sister preceded him in death. A graveside service will be held Friday at
1 p.m. at the LaJose Cemetery, with Pastor Glenn Woodward officiating.
Friends may call at the Bennett Funeral Home in Clearfield from 11 a.m.

LaJose - Mrs. L. Vera Barrett, 72, of LaJose RD, died
at her home Sunday at 10 a.m. She was born April 2, 1902, a daughter of
James and Annie (Pennington) Oaks. Her husband, Louis, preceded her in
death in 1963. Also preceding her in death were a sister, three children
and five grandchildren. The following children survive: Mrs. Mary Bloom
of Curwensville; Woodrow Barrett and Mrs. Erma Turner of LaJose RD;
Clair Barrett of Mahaffey; Louis Barrett of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; Roy
Barrett of Louisville, Ohio; Mrs. Arlene Kester of Mahaffey; Blaine
Barrett of Madera; Mrs. Nellie Still of Latrobe; and Dean Barrett of
Grampian. Also surviving are 47 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren
and nine great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at T.
G. McCracken Funeral Home in Mahaffey Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev.
James Clinton officiating. Interment will follow in the LaJose Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home from 7 p.m. today until the

Curwensville – Funeral services for Martha Y.
Barrett, 90, a resident of Marion Manor II Personal Care Home,
Curwensville, and formerly of the Kerrmoor area, who died Friday, April
1, 2005, at Marion Manor, will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral
Home Inc., Curwensville, on Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William R.
Michael officiating. Interment will be at LaJose Cemetery. Friends will
be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. and on
Monday from noon until the time of services at 2 p.m. Born Sept. 4, 1914
in Marron, she was a daughter of William and Lucinda Mae (Williams)
Young. She was a member of Newburg Methodist Church, LaJose. On June 22,
1940 she wed Arthur LeRoy Barrett who survives. Mrs. Barrett was a
homemaker and a partner with her husband on a farm in Kerrmoor. Along
with her husband, she is survived by nieces, Barbara Tubbs and her
husband, Gene, of Curwensville and Emma J. Horton and her husband,
Curtis, of State College; grand-nieces and grand-nephews, Betsy
Linsenbigler of Stronach, Lindy Baker and her husband, Douglas, of
Kerrmoor, Jackie Densmore and her husband, Michael, of Reesburg, Va.,
Kirk Whitaker and his wife, Jane, of State College, and David
Linsenbigler of Curwensville. Mrs. Barrett is survived by several nieces
and nephews living on the West Coast and one great-great-niece and four
great-great-nephews. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Also surviving is her extended family, Bill and Teresa Freyer, Earl and
Joyce Freyer and their children and grandchildren, and Timothy and Sarah
Gallagher and children. She was preceded in death by her parents; two
sisters, Ethel Hawk and Elizabeth Bowers; and one brother, Lester Young.
BARRETT, SALLIE
Widow of Conrad Barrett, who preceded his wife to the
grave on Jan 8 last, died at 2:25 o’clock Monday morning at the home
of her brother A. G. Barrett of 525 Stewart Street, Bellwood, of
pneumonia. She had been ill for the past week. She was born March 7,
1849. She had made her home in Clearfield County for many years and went
to Bellwood about a year ago to reside with her brother. She was a
member of the Zion Baptist church. Three brothers William, of Juniata;
A. G. of Bellwood and Frank of Windber, all survive. The funeral will be
held this evening with services at 7:30 o’clock from the brother’s
home in charge of Rev. H. K. Bowers, pastor of the Logan Valley, Baptist
church. The remains will be taken to LaJose on Wednesday morning at 8:50

BARRETT, SANIER
Kerrmoor- Sainer Barrett, 68, of Kerrmoor R. D.,
Jordan Township, died Monday, April 22, at 1:30 p.m. in the Mercy
Hospital at Pittsburgh. Born at Marron, Kerrmoor R.D., March 11, 1889,
he was a son of Alkana and Sadie (Pennington) Barrett. Mr. Barrett spent
the early part of his life as a brickyard worker and coal miner. For the
past 12 years he had been farming at his late home in Jordan Township.
He was a member of the Zion Baptist Church of Marron. In addition to his
wife, the former Martha Williams, he leaves the following children:
Leroy, Kerrmoor; Paul, Curwensville; Lynn, Wappingers Falls, N.Y.; and
Mrs. Sara Lash, Berwinsdale. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and
these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Minnie Rainey, La Jose; Mrs. Bessie
Fox, Fallen Timber; Ernest and Sanford Barrett, both of Bradford, Pa.’
and McKinley Barrett, Big Run. Funeral services will be held Friday,
April 26, at 2 p.m. from the Zion Baptist Church, Marron, with Rev. Cora
Ardary officiating assisted by Rev. Glen Moore. Burial will be made in
the LaJose Cemetery. Friends will be received at his late home in Marron
from 7 o’clock Wednesday evening until 12 o’clock Wednesday evening
until 12 o’clock noon Friday at which time the remains will be taken
to the church to lie in state. The body can be viewed at the church from

LaJose - Chad A. Beam, week-old son of Charles and
Bonne (McCulley) Beam of LaJose, died at 1:45 p.m. today in the Altoona
General Hospital. Private graveside services will be conducted at the

BEAM, ETHEL N.
Punxsutawney - Mrs. Ethel Nina Beam, 66, wife of
Wesley C. Beam of LaJose, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, June 24, in the
Adrian Hospital at Punxsutawney following a long illness. Mrs. Beam was
a lifelong resident of LaJose except for 14 years when she lived in
Rossiter. She was born at LaJose Feb. 10, 1896, a daughter of the late
Edward Dickerson and Nina (Spaid) Michaels. On Sept. 1, 1914, she
married Mr. Beam, who survives with a son and daughter: Richard,
Thompsonville, Conn., and Mrs. James (Dorothy) Smith, LaJose. Also
surviving are seven grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Edna Baney,
Clearfield RD, and Mrs. Mary E. Bevan, Tamaqua. One son and daughter
preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m.
in the Thomas R. McCracken Funeral Home at Mahaffey with the Rev. Casper
Hanson of Punxsutawney officiating. Burial will be in LaJose Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Bell, aged 61, who
died at her home in Mahaffey on Wednesday night, March 6, at 6:00 o’clock,
will be held in her late home on Saturday afternoon March 19, at 2:00 o’clock.

BERGER, TRESSIA A.
Coalport - Mrs. Tressia A. (Bishop) Berger resident
of Coalport died at the Philipsburg State Hospital April 6, at the age
of 49 year 5 months and 21 days. Born October 15, 1897 at LaJose. She is
survived by three sons, Elroy and Blair of Coalport and Howard, now
serving with the United States Army and is stationed in Korea in the
Pacific. Three sisters and two brothers survive: Mrs. Lydia Hilton,
Meadville; Mrs. May Yonnetz, Johnstown; Mrs. Effie Tubbs, Olanta; Thomas
Bishop, Berwinsdale; and Jess Bishop, Akron, Ohio. Funeral services were
held at Thomas Bishop's home on Wednesday, April 9, at 2 o'clock with

Mrs. Irene S. Bishop, 86, a former resident of
Berwinsdale died yesterday, April 19 at 3:50 p.m. in Clear Haven Nursing
Home. She was born in Gazzam, Ferguson Township, Jan. 20, 1890, a
daughter of Robert and Hannah (Thurston) Wiley. She was a member of the
Fairview Baptist Church. She is survived by the following children: Mrs.
Paul (Magdeline) Lewis and Mrs. Wendell (Geraldine) Lloyd, both of
Irvona; Robert of LaJose; Mrs. Howard (Josephine) Witherow of
Curwensville; Mrs. Dave (Ruby) Robertson of Altoona; Mrs. Pearl Logston
of Barberton, Ohio and Carl of Mount Ephraim, N.J. Thirty-three
grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren
also survive along with a brother, Scott Harkins of Dixonville and a
sister, Mrs. Dixon Pattison of Maryland. Services will be held from the
T. G. McCracken Funeral Home in Mahaffey Thursday April 2 at 2 p.m. The
Rev. Howard Swan will officiate and interment will be in the LaJose

Berwinsdale - Thomas W. Bishop, 76, a resident of
Berwinsdale for many years, died in his home yesterday morning, Dec. 15.
Born at LaJose Oct. 14, 1890, a son of the late Alfred and Margaret
(Pennington) Bishop, he is survived by his wife, the former Irene Wiley,
and the following children: Mrs. Paul (Magdalene) Lewis and Mrs. Howard
(Josephine) Witherow, Kerrmoor; Robert, LaJose R.D.; Mrs. Lance (Ruby)
Landrus, Blandburg; Mrs. Carl (Pearl) Logsdon, Akron, Ohio; Paul, New
York; Mrs. Geraldine Dimmick, Irvona; and Carl, New Jersey. One sister,
Mrs. Effie Tubbs of Olanta survives as does a brother, Jess Bishop of
Akron, Ohio. There are 32 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Two
daughters preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 2:15
p.m. Sunday in the Fairview Baptist Church, LaJose R.D., with the Rev.
Gerald Safstrom officiating. Interment will be in the LaJose Cemetery.

Hazel Blankenbicker, Hazel, 76, Seward, died Aug 30,
1979, at Indiana Hospital. Born July 20, 1903, in LaJose, Clearfield

death by parents; husband, Cecil, and brother and sister. Survived by
these children: Jack, married to former Vivian Scott, Mahaffey; Richard,
married to former Phyllis Yack, Seward; J. Edward, married to former

BOKISA, ESTHER E.
Mahaffey – Esther E. Bokisa, 82, of Mahaffey, died
Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, at her residence. Born Dec. 19, 1921, in
Drifting, she was a daughter of Jacob and Rose (Vallimont) Folmer. Mrs.
Bokisa was a member of the LaJose Baptist Church. She is survived by a
son, Wayne "Chuckie" C. Folmer of Westover; two daughters,
Barbara A. Bokisa and Rose M. Stiver and Dave Webster of Mahaffey; a
grandson, Andrew Folmer; and a sister Isabelle Thoms of New Jersey. Mrs.
Bokisa was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Mike Bokisa,
who died in 1985; a son, Robert A. Bokisa, who died in 2001; and several
brothers and sisters. A religious service will be conducted at Waldron
Funeral Home, Mahaffey at 1 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Dick Michaels
officiating. Interment will follow at LaJose Cemetery. Friends will be
received Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the hour
of services at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial

CASKEY, LEROY D.
Funeral Rites for Leroy D. Caskey Held Yesterday
Funeral services for Leroy Dode Caskey, 58, of Blain
were held yesterday, Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Hunter-Lloyd Funeral
Home, Irvona. The Rev. Kenneth B. Hickey of Coalport assisted by the
Rev. J.C. Lesher of Watsontown officiated at the services. Interment
followed in the LaJose Cemetery. Mr. Caskey died of a heart attack on
Sunday, April 3, 1966 at 1:30 p.m. in the Riverton General Hospital at
Seattle, Wash. He was the husband of Elizabeth "Libby" Caskey
of The Progress Coalport Office. Born at Blain City August 6, 1907, he
was a son of the late George M. and Mae (Mitchell) Caskey. He was a
member and elder of the Coalport First United Presbyterian Church, a
former superintendent of the Sunday School, a member of the Coalport
Lions and the United Brick and Clay Workers No. 457. He was an employee
of Hiram Swank Refractories of Irvona. Surviving are his wife, a son,
Hugh, of Coalport; a daughter Mrs. Daniel (Sara Jean) Zungia, Seattle,
Wash.; six grandchildren; a brother Harold Caskey, Coalport; and a
sister, Ruth Shore, Akron, Ohio.
CLEMSON, WILLIAM WALLACE
Funeral services were held last Monday afternoon in
Irvona, with Rev. C. A. Davis, officiating, for William Wallace Clemson,
78, who died on pneumonia. Surviving are his wife, one son, Blair
Clemson, and one daughter, Mrs. John Rex, both of Irvona. One brother

COWAN, EMERY L.
Westover – Emery L. Cowan, 90, of Westover RD, died
Monday, March 21, 2005, at his home. Born Nov. 17, 1914, at Garmantown,
he was the son of Charles "Chucksey" and Annie (Wadell) Cowan.
Mr. Cowan worked as a coal miner for over 40 years. For most of his coal
miner career, he was employed by Pennsylvania Coal and Coke or the
Barnes and Tucker Coal Co. He also worked for the Buterbaugh Lumber Co.
for 16 years. He was a member of the United Mine Workers Association
local at Bakerton. He was also a member of the Harmony Grange, the
Smokey Valley Sportsmen and the Burnside Sportsmen. He is survived by
seven siblings, Linta Emeigh of Royal Oak, Mich., Margaret Spotts and
her husband, Boyd, of Horseheads, N.Y., Betty Fadel of Elmira, N.Y.,
Grace Reig of Cherry Tree, Jim Cowan and his wife, Miriam, of Detroit,
Eli Cowan and his wife, Gertrude of Berkley, Mich., and Ruth Friends of
Elmira; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Pearce of Arcadia and several nieces and
nephews; and several grandchildren. Mr. Cowan was preceded in death by
his parents; his first wife, Lola (Wilson) Cowan; his second wife, Myra
J. (McFadden) Cowan, on April 14, 2000; his two adopted children,
William Cowan and Emmy Long; two brothers, Carlisle and Charles Cowan;
and a half-sister, Agnes Brown. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.
Thursday at Rairigh Funeral Home Ltd., Hillsdale, with the Rev. John
Dallape officiating. Interment will be at LaJose Cemetery. Friends will

CURRY, KATHERINE M.
Mahaffey - Funeral services will be held Saturday at
1 p.m. from the T. G. McCracken Funeral Home for Mrs. Katherine M.
Curry, 64, who died yesterday. The Rev. Ronald Marshall will officiate
and interment will follow in LaJose Cemetery. Friends will be received
at the funeral home from 7 p.m. today until time of services. Mrs. Curry
was born in Bell Township, Aug. 8, 1911, a daughter of James and Sara
(Bennett) Sunderlin, both now deceased. She is survived by her husband,
Oscar L. Curry; three sons and one daughter: James, Mrs. Paul (Karen)
Bond and Larry, all of Mahaffey RD1, and Ronald, Dunbar, Pa. In
addition, she is survived by nine grandchildren, three brothers and a
sisters: Clair Sunderlin of Mahaffey RD1, Carl Sunderlin of Linden,
N.J., Reed Sunderlin of Indiana and Mrs. Ralph (Agnes) Doty of Rochester

LaJose - Mrs. Mina R. Curry, 78, a former resident of
LaJose, died yesterday afternoon in her home at Punxsutawney following
an extended illness. She was born at Worthville, Pa., March 13. 1890, a
daughter of the late Jacob and Margaret (Mauk) Raymer. She is survived
by four daughters and one son: Mrs. Audrey Daisher, Cape Coral, Fla.;
Frank, Bethel Park; Mrs. Mabel McGarvey, Avenel, N.J.; Mrs. Helen
Phillips, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and Mrs. Jean Fike, Big Run. Eleven
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Clair Curry in 1957. Funeral services
will be held in the T. G. McCracken Funeral Home at Mahaffey Saturday at
2 p.m. The Rev. Harvey L. Williams will officiate. Interment will be

LaJose Boy Dies
Smith Curry, 5 year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Blake
Curry of LaJose, died at the Clearfield Memorial Hospital, Saturday
night, February 15th, at 8:30 o'clock. Death was caused by a sudden
attack of pneumonia. The body was taken to the home of his parents
yesterday to be prepared for burial. Funeral arrangements have not yet

DIMMICK, GERALD S.
Bells Landing – Gerald S. Dimmick, 74, of Bells
Landing died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, at his residence. Born April 15,
1929, in Kerrmoor, he was a son of Burris and Mary (Lewis) Dimmick. Mr.
Dimmick was a mechanic and an Army veteran. He is survived by his wife,
Marilyn Fronk; a son, Dan Dimmick and his wife, Pam, of Bells Landing;
two daughters, Lois "Betsy" Collins and her husband, Mark, of
Hyde and Ranea Brewer and her husband, Randy, of Grampian; five
grandchildren, Jamie, Randy, Mike, Melissa and Steve; three
great-grandchildren, Katie, Brittany and Jacob; a brother, Edward
Dimmick of California; and two sisters, Ruth Smith of Kerrmoor and
Elaine Dobb of Clearfield. Mr. Dimmick was preceded in death by his
parents; a son, Gerald Jr.; a grandson, Gerald Price; brothers, Harold,
Donald and Herbert; and a sister, Ann. Services will be held at 2 p.m.
Friday at Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home Inc., Irvona, with the Rev. Albert
Cooper officiating. Interment will be at LaJose Cemetery. Friends will
be received from 5-9 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. until the hour of
services tomorrow at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial
contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 119 E. Market St.,

DIMMICK, MILES E.
Berwinsdale - Miles Ernest Dimmick, a resident of
Berwinsdale, died in the Spangler Hospital Thursday evening, May 18,
following a long illness, He was 79. He was born in Karthaus, Clearfield
County, July 4, 1870, a son of the late Ezra R. and Amanda Michaels
Dimmick. As a young man he went to live in the LaJose section where he
was united in marriage with Emma Tozer of LaJose who died in 1896. He
later married Mary Thompson Wiley of Kerrmoor who died in Oct 1946.
Since the death of his second wife he had been making his home with his
daughter, Mrs. Leona Irvine at Berwinsdale. In addition to his daughter,
Mrs. Irvine, he is survived by the following sons; Burris A., Kerrmoor;
Irvin, Curwensville; John, Coalport; and Clair L., of Lumber City.
Eighteen grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs.
Carrie Hampton of LaJose and Mrs. Mae Kitchen of Irvona, also survive.
Funeral services will be held from the Presbyterian Church at
Berwinsdale at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 21. Rev. Raymond S. Hitinger will
officiate and interment will be in the LaJose Cemetery. Friends may call
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Irvine in Berwinsdale until time of the

DOTTS, MARY JANE
Irvona – Mary Jane Dotts, 59, Irvona, wife of
William Dotts, died at her home Sunday, November 23 at 10:50 a.m. Born
in Chest Township, Clearfield County, November 24, 1887, she was a
daughter of Joseph Hutton and Mary Woods. She was a member of the
Methodist Church in Irvona since moving to Irvona about 29 years ago. In
addition to her husband she is survived by the following children: Mrs.
Lloyd Dodson, Bradford; Mrs. James Salsgiver, Jamestown, N.Y.: Carl,
Erie; Mrs. William Collins, Irvona’ Mrs. Elroy Berger, Coalport. Nine
grandchildren and one brother, James Hutton, New Washington and one
sister, Mrs. Grant Gowin of Starver, also survive. Funeral services will
be held from her late home Wednesday, November 26 at 2 p.m. with her
pastor, Rev. John P. McCurdy officiating. Interment will be in the
LaJose Cemetery. The body will be at her late home in Irvona this
evening where friends may call until time of the funeral. (The Progress,

DUTRA, RUTH
LaJose - Mrs. Ruth Dutra, 86, of LaJose, died
yesterday June 28 at 7 a.m. in her home. Born Nov. 21, 1889 in LaJose,
she was the daguhter of George W. and Mary (Wolfkill) Hallman. She was
the last surviving member of her immediate family, preceded in death by
ten brothers and sisters. She is survived by four nieces and nephews,
and her husband, Carl Dutra, of LaJose. Services will be held from the
T. G. McCracken Funeral Home, Mahaffey, Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the
Rev. Howard Swan officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from
2 p.m. today until the time of services. Interment will be at the LaJose
