We have upgraded the family website to a premium site with 205 MGB of space so we don't have to be concerned about our posting anymore. This is still at no cost to anyone.
We have had many new members join us in recent days. We welcome all of you and encourage you to post your family pictures, info you are looking for or anything you would like. We are an informal gathering so don't worry about if it is okay to post something. We encourage you to post anything that you may come across in your research of your own lines on other lines. You never know what you find may be of some use to another member. It is a great help to post websites that you find concerning census, county web pages or other information.
If you are new to the site and need some help leaning how to post things or get around in the site, your administrators have a help file that can be sent to you or will gladly assist you. Don't worry about making a mistake on posting or any other post. Any mistake can be corrected. Each member has the right to edit or remove their own postings but only the administrators can edit all postings.
Feel free to invite other family members to JOIN us on the Family Site.

When the Whisenant/Whisenhunt/Whisnant family website was started about 2 years ago, the thought behind it was to help researchers connect with other researchers from the same line. As most of you probably know a family file is posted on Ancestor.com and rootsweb. I get several inquiries a week from these listings. Over the last two years the website has helped many researchers make connections. One such was a lady who, through a series of events lost all of her siblings and both parents while quite young. She was raised in a foster home. As she learned how to use a computer and started looking for family members she came across the Whisen... listing and e-mailed me. Through your generous sharing, she was able to make contact with a cousin and has began to feel she has a family at last. Please congratulate yourselves on helping one researcher find her family. I believe there have been several more. I know I have made many. Above is a list of family members looking for information on their lines. Please take a moment and read these request and keep an eye out for them. If you have a request of your own you would like to post please do so either on the website or send the request to one of your administrators.
Just before I went to Arkansas this past May I had heard from a lady who had seen the posted family file. She also lived in Arkansas and while I was there I visited with her. She had a great many stories to tell about family members. The stories were wonderful and I would not have had chance to get to know my family better without her.
Thru the website I have made many friends that are very dear to me now. So I am asking you not to think of the family website as just a webpage but a place to meet and get to know other family members. Share what you find because you never know who might be out there looking for just what you have seen. One of my greatest gifts has been my family and getting to meet all of you.
We are always open to new suggestion on how to improve the site and meet out members needs, Please let us know.
Thank you all for helping make this Family Website such a success and please send us your NEWS for our upcoming Newsletters.
