These records were all obtained from the Bureau of Land Management Website, which can be searched. In all of these records the Thomas Jones buying land is identified as Thomas Jones of DeSoto County. When my ancestor Thomas Jones died and his estate was sold the land described in these patents were sold as part of his estate. The land is mentioned as being sold on June 17, 1844. This is from the Final Record, August Term 1844, DeSoto County, MS.
