The following is an extract of Ellmoore Wheeler from the Memphis City Directories located at the main library in Memphis. Ellmore worked as a motorman for the Memphis St. Railway Co from 1905 thru 1919. During the depression he held several jobs, from carpenter to chauf to a salesman for the Gulf Refining Company. Mysterious to me are the years 1921 to 1923. Ellmoore lived at 2084 Higbee from 1907 to 1920, then N. D. Lucado is listed living here from 1921 to 1923 and then in 1924 Ellmoore is back at 2084 Higbee. In 1924 he is listed with no occupation so he must have been out of work for a while.
Higbee St. is near the Central Library. A house still exists on the site of 2084 Higbee. I don't know if this is the same house that Ellmoore lived in or not.
