Descendants of Delbert Bazle Wells

Delbert Bazle Wells was born 02 September 1870 in Greene County, Missouri. He was the son of Nelson Oliver Wells and Rachel A. (Gray) Daugherty. Delbert was an infant when his parents made the trip from Missouri to Sherman, Grayson County, Texas between September 1870 and December 1872. The family moved from Sherman to Brown County, Texas. It is quite possible they were there by the later part of 1880 as Delbert's half-brother, George W. Wells, was married in the county in August of 1880; and his half-sister, Mary Francis "Frankie" Wells, was also married there in 1885.

Delbert Bazle Wells married Janette Adeline "Nettie" Malone 25 January 1894 in Brown County, Texas (Book B, Page 227). She was born 27 March 1874 in Parker County, Texas. Nettie was the daughter of William Harvey Malone and Sarah Jane Norman.

1. Winifred Wells was born 27 February 1895 in the Stepps Creek Community of Brown County, Texas and died 29 August 1985 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas. He married Marie Antoinette Martin 17 October 1915 in Brown County, Texas (Book: 8, Page: 68) She was the daughter of Robert Clifton Martin and Francis Adeline Williams. Marie was born 26 August 1899 in Texas (1900 Census record Eastland County, Texas) and died of pneumonia on 18 March 1925 in Garza County, Texas. Her death record is filed in Lynn County, Texas (The Lynn County Death Record book has her name listed correctly in the index. The actual death record has her name as Marie White. The names of her mother and father are correct). Winifred was buried next to Marie Wells on 31 August 1985 in Tahoka Cemetery in Tahoka, Lynn County, Texas

	2. Sye Wells was born 06 April 1897 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas and died 23 December 1906 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas. He is buried in Jenkins Springs Cemetery near Brownwood, Brown County, Texas

3. Harvey Nelson Wells was born 30 October 1898 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas and died 12 May 1963 in Irving, Dallas County, Texas. He married Lorena Rosie Lemmons 27 August 1927 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas (Book 11, p 20). She was the daughter of Ollie Val Lemmons and Louette Flowers. Lorena was born 08 March 1911 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas and died 30 July 1981 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas. Harvey was buried 13 May 1963 in Jenkins Springs Cemetery in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas. Lorena is buried there as well.

4. Ira Wells was born 21 February 1900 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas and died 13 March 1971 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas. He married Eloner Ragsdale 05 November 1921 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas (Book 9, p 350). She was the daughter of Newton Franklin Ragsdale and Faith Lucy Oney. Eloner was born 14 April 1907 in Arp, Smith County, Texas and died 15 March 1996 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas. They are buried in Eastlawn Memorial Cemetery in Early, Brown County, Texas

5. Otto Wells was born 16 October 1902 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas and died 08 February 1974 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas. He married Helen Gerene Rousey 30 December 1928. We did not find a record of this marriage in Brown or Comanche County, Texas. I have not tried Wichita county. Gerene was the daughter of Jerrell and Eula Rousey. She was born 28 June 1913 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas and died 31 December 1974 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas. They are buried in Jenkins Springs Cemetery in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas

6. Sadie Loyal Wells was born 18 February 1904 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas and died 30 May 1987 in Taylor, Williamson County, Texas. She married Noble Allgood 02 August 1921 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas (Book 9, p 314). He was the son of Will Allgood and Frankie Pierce. Noble was born 03 May 1891 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas and died 06 September 1970 in Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas. They are buried in Jenkins Springs Cemetery in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas

7. Elmer Wells was born 01 May 1905 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas and died 20 November 1987 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas. He married Ruth Nadyne Day 10 November 1933 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas (Book 12, p 115). She was the daughter of Rancom "Rance" Allen Day and Alice Cordelia Blackwood. Ruth was born 21 May 1917 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas (obit) and died 11 November 2004 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas. Elmer and Ruth Wells are in Eastlawn Memorial Cemetery in Early, Brown County, Texas

	8. Lola Wells was born 25 October 1907 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas and died 27 September 2001 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas. She married John Wesley Flowers 15 October 1926 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas. He was the son of William Flowers and Mary Riddle. John was born 10 June 1907 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas and died 14 February 1989 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas. Lola was buried 29 September 2001 in Jenkins Springs Cemetery in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas. John was buried there 16 February 1989.

LOLA WELLS FLOWERS

   Funeral services for Lola Wells Flowers, 94, of Early, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001 at the Early First Baptist Church with Rev.Carol Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Jenkins Springs Cemetery in Brown County under the direction of the Davis-Morris Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
   Mrs. Flowers died Wednesday, Sept. 26, at the Twilight Nursing Home in Bangs. She was born Oct. 25, 1906 in Brown Coounty. She married John Wesley Flowers. She was a homemaker and member of the Early First Baptist Church. She had been a lifetime resident of Brown County.
   Survivors include children Bonnie Armstrong-Jury of Ft. Worth and Linda Rush of Bangs: six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous mieces and nephews.

   She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Melvin Flowers and several brothers and sisters.

	9. Vida Wells was born 19 March 1909 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas and died 02 January 1989 in Odessa, Ector County, Texas. She married Walton/ Walter Horner Robinson 09 September 1933 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas (Book 12, p 95). He was born 14 January 1910 in Linten Springs, Texas and died 11 January 1989 in Odessa, Ector County, Texas.

	10. Delbert Bazle Wells, Jr. was born 21 March 1911 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas and died 27 December 1989 in Midland, Midland County, Texas. He married Loreta Elizabeth Rodgers 28 May 1935 in Brown County, Texas (Book 12, Page 356).

11. Loree Wells was born 03 May 1913 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas and died 04 May 1958 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas. She married Merl Wallace Price 05 December 1935. I did not find a record of this marriage in Brown County........... will recheck. Merl Wallace Price was the son of Wallace Price and Elsie Davis. He was born 23 October 1913 and died 27 October 2006 in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas. They are buried in Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early, Brown County, Texas

DELBERT WELLS, LOCAL RESIDENT 76 YEARS, DIES; FUNERAL WED.

   Delbert Wells, 84, 2313 Vine, a resident of Brown County for 76 years, died at 1:30 today at his home.
   Funeral services are to be held at 10:00 a.m. Wedsesday from Early Baptist Church, of which he was a member. Rev. Ed Carson and Rev. Adrian Coleman will officiate. Burial will be in Jenkins Springs Cemetery.
   Mr. Wells was born in Green County, Missouri, Sept. 2, 1870. He was a retired farmer.
   Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Nettie Wells; six sons, Winfred of Post, Harvey of Irving, Ira, Otto and Elmer of Brownwood, and Delbert Wells Jr. of Odessa; four daughters, Mrs. Noble Allgood, Mrs. John Flowes, and Mrs. Merl Price, all of Brownwood, and Mrs. W. H. Robinson of Odessa; 31 grandchildren 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

MRS. JENETTE WELLS DIES HERE; FUNERAL SCHEDULED FRIDAY

   Mrs. Jenette Adline Wells of 1319 Brooks died at 3 a.m. tody in a local hospital..
   Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday in Early Baptist Church,. The Rev. Billy Clarke and the Rev. Travis Gibson will officiate. Burial will be in Jenkins Springs Cemetery with Davis-Morris is in charge .
   Mrs. Wells was born March 27, 1874, and lived in Brown County since she was a small girl.
   Survivors are six sons, Winfred Wells of Post, Harvey of Irving, Delbert of Odessa and Ira, Otto and Elmer Wells, all of Brownwood; four daughters, Mrs. Noble Allgood, Mrs. John Flowes, and Mrs. Merl Price, all of Brownwood, and Mrs. W. H. Robinson of Odessa; 31 grandchildren 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchild.
