goood morning bill....

the temp is cold here.. hahahha the temp is 18 with a wind chill of 7 degrees.......

as to the low cost printer with usb port.... i finally broke down and went to the local "Mom & Pop's Computer's" shop and we upgraded my trusty old friend..... new modem, usb ports, memory etc.... my old friend is really running like a champ now... hooked up that new printer and its been working great.

been using that printer ever since... what with all of the family tree information I've been researching and receiving via people seeing the family tree on ancestry.com and all.... and of course the printer is great with working on our properties with emails from the lawyer and real estate agents etc... we now have two properties for sale in texas, holding on to the rest (love that monthly income, of course the headaches are there too).. which brings me to my latest news...

i've always loved my trusty 1990 ford ranger... got my "little truck" for a good price years ago, put quite a few miles on her, from texas to arizona to idaho and finally to missouri, but she's never given me any problems... just since i've had the knee surgery haven't been able to get out and drive... curt put's it to my knee surgery, but i don't know what the problem is, when i drive i end up with a swollen knee when i return home..... but i'll never put my "little truck" out to pasture or sell her... but i did come across a 1986 dodge caravan in excellent shape inside and out and purchased it last friday.... so now when i do need to go to texas (for properties) or arizona (to see family and that special grandson of mine) I could drive the van with no worries about maybe breaking down.... i am the third owner of the van, and the previous owners blessed me with this sheet of every time they changed oil, rotated tires, etc......

curt was out hunting all weekend, i was upset because i couldn't go this year, but next year i will be. he had quite a few tales to tell, but came home empty handed, except for his new binoculars he bought and some very nice sunset pictures for me on my digital camera... he's been hinting to me to get back into painting again... which i might...

attached you will find a pic i took with my digital camera of one of my birdhouse gourds on my front porch with some of my plants.... and the painting i did of it (this pic is when it was about halfway done) Our family was very pleased with the painting, it was the first one since dad got killed that I've done, that I liked when it was finished, this one didn't get painted over like the others....

I guess I forgot to tell you I got a digital camera... and last year when we were in arizona for mother's day i purchased a camcorder... took two tapes of the grandson during the weekend.. hahahahah  the digital is a samsung digimax 130. it takes great pics and i just hook it up to my old trusty friend and cut and paste and the pics are on my computer...

curt loves to take pics of chem trails and is in that group on yahoo... he submits pics after i make them smaller, etc for him.... he usually carries the camera with him in his truck, says its in case he sees an accident or something... i think its just because he likes it so much.. *S*

I wanted to let you know... when people email regarding the family tree, a lot of them i send to your website especially for the 1879 and 1897 maps of montgomery county... I am hearing from Turk's, Lail's and all sort's of interesting people... I have heard from long lost cousin's from my Brower's side too...

Curt and I took a trip this last summer to Wellsville to visit with some of my family and we went to the cemetery there and Laddonia's and got some great pics... I was very pleased when I came across one very tall stone... if I hadn't worked on the tree I never would have known it was the stone of my gr gr grandfather Brower's daughter and family from his first marriage (where I come from his second marriage) but we took pictures anyway... Then I heard from this woman who lives in Washington state who is from the first marriage... I sent her the pic and she was delighted... said it was a treasure for her because she would never be able to travel to Missouri...  I also sent her to the map page because their family farm is listed on it also...

I did spend the money for ancestry.com census records ($30 for three month subscription) and spend a lot of time going through them... but I find a LOT of information... puzzles answered....

I did come across a website for everyone listed in Laddonia Cemetery (some of my McManamy's are there) if you know of anyone who needs that.... I would love to have a list of everyone at Wellsville, but haven't come across a site for that yet.

Hi Christy,

Sorry I wasn't on saturday night. Bill has a lot of faith in me in what I can suggest, but I'll try. *S*

I'm 47, and have recently given up and finally had knee surgery. It turned out I had torn cartilage and a cyst in my right knee. My knee would swell something terrible at times, to the point where I could only wear sweat pants. This was very disturbing because I am very active and would have to use a cane. Anyway, when they took out the cyst they found more torn cartilage.  But now I'm on the road to running to my greenhouse.. hahahaha... okay I checked into my books.. and for arthritis I'll just put everything, not just herbs in what I've found...

Oh I've also taken to wearing a copper bracelet, however I just got it this last week so I can't tell you if it works yet or not. I've read that sweating releases the copper into the skin which is supposed to fight inflammation. I got my bracelet at wal-mart for $5.

I'm sure you've heard weight reduction helps decrease strain, and to get regular exercise. I liked this the best because I am a swimmer. Also if possible, when inflammation starts, go to bed for a couple of days (as if any of us are able to do this with our busy lives), this one book says to prop affected areas (maybe you could prop your back with a blanket and then use cold compresses) That is the part I dislike the most. It is really recommended in all the reading I've done, to use cold compresses (ice in a towel, etc) instead of hot. I would always grab the heating pad because it felt better, only it didn't help. So I adjusted to that.

Inflammatory teas can be helpful.
Stinging - nettle tea --- stinging-nettles are supposed to have vitamins A and C and potassium, calcium, sulfur and magnesium. Stinging-nettles also help the kidneys excrete toxins. Pour 1 cup of boiling water over 1 tblsp of nettles. Steep for 10 min. Drink 3 cups daily.

Horsetail tea -- Horsetail provides minerals that rebuild bones and tissue... Simmer 2 tsp of the herb in 1 cup of water for 15 min.

Now you really got me reading here.. *S*.. in one of my books it says... toxins absorbed from the intestines promote joint inflammation... to prevent this:
* avoid constipation
*eat a high-fiber diet low in animal products, chemical additives and pesticide-treated foods
*consider taking foods that support liver function, including licorice, burdock, milk thistle and red clover, and herbs that aid the intestines, including peppermint, aloe vera, alfalfa, ginger and marsh mallow.
* an enema can reduce pain by releasing toxins and buffering intestinal acids. Hyperacidity, in addition to intestinal toxins, has been linked to acute inflammations. Try an enema using 2 cups of water. Or, combine 1 qt. of water or warm chamomile tea with 1 tsp of sodium bicarbonate.

Now I also checked Rheumatism for more on inflammatory teas. It says on any of the following herbs pour 1 cup of cold water over 1 tblsp. of herb simmer for 1 min, remove from heat; steep for 20 min, strain and drink. Drink 1 cup, 2-3 times a day, for 1 month. the herbs listed are: dandelion, nettles, oat straw and horsetail (all rich in minerals needed to repair cartilage and tissue damage caused by inflammation)

On all teas you can add sugar or honey... honey is preferred because it is natural

On the rheumatism again.. its said aspirin and ibuprofen are anti-inflammatories, they also make intestinal walls more permeable so toxins are absorbed readily. Try flaxseed or evening primrose supplements instead.

I don't know if any of this can help you. But my recommendation is read everything you can get your hands on. Before my surgery I even went to webmd and found my particular knee problem and I found it very beneficial.

Bill asked that I add you and him to my IM and I've done that. Take care.

I just read the email he sent you saying I'm shy.. hahaha I'm still laughing on that one cause I've [never] pictured myself as being shy, but I guess I am.. hahahahaha

take care vicky

Hi.... I'm a friend of Bill Bishops and he suggested I write to you about the problems I have with my arthritis.  I'm 34 years old and have terrible arthritis in my back from a very bad car wreck in 1989.  Bill said you deal alot with natural herb etc.  Is there something you could suggest that I try?  I am on Celebrex right now.
Thanks for any advice, Christy
