Charles Bishop, P.O. Herndon. Was born in Pulaski county, Kentucky, in 1840, where he lived until 1851, when he moved to Pettis county, Missouri, with his widowed mother, and stayed there until 1862, when he married, and moved to this county. He married Miss Mary C. Masters, daughter of Harrison Masters, of this county. He has had five children, four of them now living: Laura M., Mattie P., William T., John S., all now at home on the farm. Mr. Bishop is a member of the M.E. Church South, with membership at Bethel. During the war he was at home most of the time, served for a month or two in the militia at Marshall, in Capt. Corum's company, Col. Wilson's regiment, 71st C.M.M. He had little when he started in life, and now by good management and industry, has an excellent farm of 200 acres.
