Montgomery Standard, Montgomery County, Missouri, 15 September 1949

Susan Alberta Bishop Brown was born July 7, 1874, in Lincoln county, near Hawk
Point, Missouri, and departed this life on September 1, 1949 at the age of 75 
years, one month and 24 days.  She was the third child of Thaddeus K and Nancy
Carico Bishop.
	She was married to Thomas J Brown on September 3, 1900, and to this
union five children were born.  They are Rosa (now Mrs Henry Schamma), of
Vandalia, Missouri; Thaddeus J Brown of Carvallis, Oregon; Annabelle (now
Mrs Theodore Gorden) of Jonesburg, Missouri; Nancy, who died in infancy, and
Lydia (now Mrs Void Pettig), of Warrenton, Missouri.
	She became a member of Central Grove Methodist church on July 11, 
1897, under the ministry of Rev. W.O. Medley.  She attended church regularly
until her health did not permit her to do so.
	She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, one son and three
daughters, also nine grandchildren and one great grandson;  Two brothers - 
Walter F Bishop and Thaddeus Bishop, of near New Truxton, Missouri; and two
sisters, Mrs Nancy Z. McSherry, and Mrs Lydia V. Gibson of Mexico, Missouri;
also a host of friends and relatives.  ...  Interment was made in the Central 
Grove Cemetery.
