Former Callaway Resident Dead.  St. Clair J. Bishop, 57 years old, a former
resident of Callaway county, died Tuesday morning of a complication of 
diseases at his home in Mexico.  Funeral services were held Wednesday 
afternoon at Liberty Christian church, northwest of Shamrock.
	Mr Bishop was born in Callaway county but lived in Mexico a number 
of years.  He is survived by his wife, three daughters and one son.  Fount 
Bishop, of Callaway county, is a brother.
	He was a member of the Modern Woodsmen lodge and for many years was 
an active member of the Christian church.  Many friends are left to mourn 
his death.


Audrain Weekly Intelligencer, Mexico, Missouri, 19 September 1918 Funeral of St. Clair Bishop Here Wednesday. Pioneer Citizen Died Tuesday Morning From Complication of Diseases. The funeral service of St. Clair Bishop, who died in this city, Tuesday morning, was conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Liberty Church in Callaway County. At the time of his death Mr. Bishop was 57 years old. He was born in Callaway County and has lived in Mexico for a number of years. He formerly made his home in Rush Hill, and was a member of the Modern Woodsman of the World Lodge of that place. He had always been a good church worker and was well known as a Christian man. Besides a host of friends he leaves the following relatives to mourn his death: his wife, Mrs. Emma Bishop, three daughters, Mrs. Nettie Peterson [Wyss], and Mrs. Maud Wells of Mexico and Mrs. Ruth Wellingham of St Louis, one son, Frank Bishop, of this city, and two brothers, Tyra Bishop of Hannibal and Fount Bishop of Callaway.
