W.S. Oliver Dies; Services Thursday, Mexico Ledger W.S. Oliver, 83, of 204 Perry St., Mexico, died at 11:36 a.m. Tuesday in the emergency room at Audrain Medical Center. He had been rushed to the hospital after becoming ill while brushing snow off his car. He was a retired farmer and formerly managed the Kwiki Car Wash in Mexico. Services have been set for 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Arnold Funeral Home. The Rev. Frank Park will officiate. Burial will be in Wellsville Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be today from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to First Baptist Church, where Mr. Oliver was a member. A native of Montgomery City, Mr. Oliver was born May 19, 1904, a son of E.S. and Sallie J. Bosley Oliver. On Jan. 7, 1930, he was married at Wellsville to Allevia Gooch, who survives at the home. The Olivers lived at Montgomery City until 1968 when he retired and moved to Mexico. He was a 1925 graduate of Wellsville High School. Surviving besides his wife are a son, Mervin W. Oliver of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Sally Ann Maxwell of Laddonia; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother, Ray Oliver, a resident of the New Florence Nursing Home; and a sister, Mrs. Winnie Mudd of Sun City, Calif. A brother and a sister preceded him in death.
