Montgomery City Montgomery Standard, Montgomery County, Missouri, 16 April 1943

	Aged Montgomery County Citizen Passes.  Funeral services were 
conducted Tuesday afternoon, April 6, in Wellsville at the Wells Funeral 
Home, by the Rev. L. F. Admire, for Granville A. Peery 92 year old resident 
of the Wellsville community, who passed away Sunday, April 4, 1943, at 
Baldwin, Mo.
	Granville Addison Peery, third son of Albert and Mary Bishop Peery, 
was born May 18, 1850, at the old Peery homestead, 2 1/2 miles east of 
Wellsville.  He was united in marriage to Sarah Blackshaw February 3, 1875. 
They became the parents of one son, Leslie, who passed away November 15, 
1890, at the age of 8 years.  Mr. and Mrs. Peery lived on a farm near the 
place of the former's birth, until Mrs. Peery passed away May 8, 1935.  
Since then Uncle Gran, made his home with his nephews, Brove and Add Peery, 
and Clarence Nation, a nephew who was reared from Childhood by Mr. and Mrs. 
Peery.
	Mr. Peery was the last surviving child of a family of seven.  His 
three brothers, Charles, Joseph, David and two sisters, Mrs. Fielding Hays 
and Mrs. Nation, preceded him in death several years ago.  He is survived by 
several nieces and nephews, many friends and old neighbors who were grieved 
at his passing.
	Burial was in the Peery family cemetery near the old home place.

	White Oak --- Mrs. G. A. Peery, who had been in ill health for some 
time, passed away Wednesday afternoon at her home, 3 1/2 miles east of 
Wellsville.  Funeral services were held from the home Thursday, conducted by 
Rev. S. E. McDonald of Middletown.  Burial was in the Peery family cemetery 
near the home.  She was 81 years old.

the funeral of their aunt - Mrs. Sallie Peery last Thursday.
