Know all men by these presents, That We

                Samuel Bishop and William Via

are held and firmly bound unto Wilson & Nicholas Esquire,
Governor or Chief Magistrate of the Commonwealth of Virginia,
in the just and full sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, to which
payment, well and truly to be made, to the said Governor and his
successors, for the use of the Commonwealth, we bind ourselves, and each
of us, our and each of our Heirs, Executors and Administrators, jointly
and severally, firmly by these presents.  Sealed with our Seals, and
dated this 19th day of February one thousand eight hundred and Sixteen
The Condition of the above obligation is such, That whereas there
is a Marriage shortly intended to be had and solemnized between the
above bound Samuel Bishop and Sarah Via daughter of William Via Sen
Now therefore, If there be no lawful cause to obstruct said Marriage,
then the above Obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full
force and virtue.

Dear Sir                Feby 19th 1816
        You will be pleased to grant a Licence to Solemnize the rights
of matrimony between my Daughter Sally Via & Samuel bishop.  She being
of Lawful age, and haveing my approbation.  Given under my hand and
