Well how did the first day of the new year go for you? Didn't do to
much here, took down all of the Christmas decoration and got it put away
did wome scanning on the computer then it went down guess I worked it to much.
I do have all of the info on most of the Wyss family that came down from
Gorrleib and Karlena or Lena as she was called. I will get it sent to you
some time. I need the address of the info for getting a update on
converting tif files to jpeg. I guess I would be able to do it. I have
got a couple of files I am sending with this. One is of Rebecca Wilburn and
one of Sam Bishop the Brother of Sinclair.
Have several more but some of them would not copy very good so will see if
there is something else I can do. Oh yes I sent you one of John and Etheal
Bishop who is the son of Harry S. Bishop and Eunice A. Bishop, the grandson
of Samuel C. bishop and Alice Hayden, the ggson of Granville A. Bishop and
Mary Speirs Have a good night Jim

Did some emailing with Nancy Lee (Greenberry Bishop connection) and
Anne Baker (Wesley Bishop connection)... my daughter Elizabeth was 12
years old today and she has some four girlfriends over here for a
birthday party and sleepover...

Do you mean Rebecca Wilburn like in Tyra D Bishop's wife, Rebecca?...
must be a picture of her when she was younger?... the Sam brother of
Sinclair would be Samuel D Bishop who was killed in the Mayflower Mine
explosion... do you know what his children's names were... his wife's
name was Viola Bishop... did they all stay out in California where he
was killed at Nevada City in 1899?...

That would be Harry Stanley and Eunice A (Clement) Bishop's son and his
wife... did you get that picture of John and Eathel Bishop from Aunt
Nettie and maybe thru her mom "Nanel"?... if you got it that way that
would show those folks knew each other fairly well somewhere along the
way... or did you get the picture from your attempts to collect family
history from people?...
Unless you tell me otherwise I will assume the names for the pictures
are correct and I will find a place for them out on the website...
thanks... :-)... keep em comin'...

Will try and answer your questions, I got the picture from John Bishop,
as he is Marys uncle on her moms side he married her mothers sister. Yes
that is a picture of Tyra Bishops Rebecca and the Sam is that of the Sam
that went to California, no I do not know any of the California Bishops or
Lyle family that went out there. Need to find out about them if possible.
On the shooting of Granville Bishop, what John said was that he was
shot going through a rail fence, more tid bits I guess. John Bishops grand dad
lost his right leg when he was 6 years old half way between the hip and
knee. His name was Samuel Calvin Bishop.
I sent a list of Gottleib descendents in another email am going to try
and send a picture of Viola wife of Sam Bishop of California and one of
Emma C. Lyle in her wedding picture don't know how it will turn out. Jim

From: jbradley@mail.trib.net (James W. Bradley)

Well I have found some other pictures after digging some more. I hope they
come out. The pictures are of Bill and Nettie Wyss on their wedding day and
fifty years later, they were married on Dec 23 1909, and the second picture
was taken on Dec 23 1959. Jim

Subject: John William Bishop and Eathel Edna (Leverett) Date: 03 Jan 1998
From: William F Bishop wbishop@tranquility.net To: James W Bradley jbradley@trib.net

Jim, was looking thru some old notes I had... Aunt Nettie notes in
particular... now I know how your wife, Mary Edna (Long) fits into the
picture... correct me if I'm wrong:

James William Bradley married Mary Edna (Long)
Mary's parents are Herbert Long and Lillian (Levertt)
Lillian's sister is Eathel Edna Leverett
John William Bishop married Eathel Edna (Leverett)
John's parents are Harry Stanley Bishop and Eunice Alvia (Clement)
Harry's parents are Samuel Calvin Bishop and Alice (Hayden)
Samuel's parents are Granville Addison Bishop and Mary Ann (Wingfield)

Can you tell me more about John William Bishop and Eathel Edna
(Leverett)?... are they still living and if so where?... if living how
old and did you know them personally?... wonder what they or the
sister-in-law Lillian might know of the Harry Stanley Bishop family or
the Granville Addison Bishop family?... or other Bishop history?... so
Jim it appears that your own family is connected to the Bishop line in
at least two ways... :-)...

Bill I believe this is someone you know. [William & Marjorie (Baker) Bishop]
I got a conversion file yesterday
but have not got it loaded yet on the computer. To convert from tif to jpg.
So you might get lucky and get a jpg fiel one of these days.
Going to be one of those days I guess what with the weather and such.
Yes you have the family figured out. No they do not know any info but will
try and contact one of Johns sisters to see if she knows anything or has
pictures. I believe they live in the city of St. Louis. John and his wife
are not in the best of health. No more news for now have a good one Jim

Subject: Wyss Family Update Date: 25 Jan 1998
From: jbradley@mail.trib.net (James W. Bradley)

Well I need to update you on the progress of the Wyss family, I have
ordered some film from the family history center library to view when it
gets in. I had corresponded with Switzerland and found out that the town
was not what I thought it was, was some distance from Bern.
The person that was looking for me found the Wyss name in the history of
two different areas. Things are looking up in that direction.
I have been updating some of the files that I have on the Bishop family
when it applies as I do not know some of the family's that you get yet.

Yes that is taken in Laddonia at their farm. And you don't know who that is?
My-my! Well any way it is William John Wyss who was the son of John and
Marie Wyss of Iowa. William J. Wyss was born Jan 8 1924. He has passed on
but I don't know the date. His wife was Maudie and they had one daughter
named Cindy. Have a good day Jim

Vernon Hammack was a friend of theirs, his sister, Viva Hammack married
Royal Bradley, (Lonnie Bradleys brother) and they lived in Illinois most
of their married life and both are buried there. Have a good day Jim

Jim, thanks... I do remember hearing the name John Wyss from a long time
ago... but his name was not written on the back of the photo... have
corrected the online photo description and added a couple more photos to the
same webpage "Jonathan Gottlieb Wyss & Karleina (Goretz) family photos" this
morning... have you seen the picture before with Vernon Hammack on it?...
at least that's what it says on the back of the photo... :-)... was that
one of the "Wyss girls" boyfriends at that time?... or just someone I have
never heard of?... :-)... Bill Bishop
