Mustang Times, Canadian County, Mustang, Oklahoma, 11 June 2008 Kyra Dawn Sowter, born October 27, 1987, in Dallas, Texas, departed this life on June 4, 2008, in Norman, Oklahoma. She leaves behind her mother and step-father, Kari and Wesley Tison, a brother, Tyler Sowter, and sister Nicole Tison all of Shawnee, step-sister and brother Toni and Glenn Burgert of Hobart, father David Sowter and half-sisters Sara and Rachel Sowter of Oklahoma City. Also grandparents Kathy and John Bishop of Mustang, Dorma and Ricky Tison of Shawnee, Pete Sowter of Florida, Bill Rinehart and great grandparents, Julia Rinehart and John and Dorothy Jones of El Reno, as well as several aunts, uncles, many cousins and a host of dear friends. Kyra was the ‘apple of her mother’s eye’ and deeply loved by all who knew her. Kyra spent all her school years in Mustang. Her summers were filled with softball and her falls with basketball. She was a noted Western Days runner, coming in first place in her division every year she ran. She was currently employed at Pizza Hut in Shawnee and had planned to enter EMT training in the fall. Services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10, at McNeil’s Funeral home in Mustang with graveside services at 2 p.m. at Dale Cemetery.
