Obituary Archibald Gaston Baker

A. G. Baker Archie Gaston Baker, 74, of 516 S. Woodrow St., died Wednesday in Columbia Hospital. A retired Southern Railroad conductor, Mr. Baker was born in North Carolina and was a resident of Columbia most of his life. He attended Wesley Memorial Methodist Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Viola C. Baker; two daughters, Mrs. William Bishop of St. Louis, Mo., and Mrs. Dave Rose of Columbia; a son, Woodrow Baker of Charleston; and four stepdaughters, Miss Lena Lawhorn, Mrs. Bennie Evans, Mrs. Frank Wood, and Mrs. Paden Cochran, all of Columbia. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Melvin K. Medlock, D. D. Burial will be in Chrescent Hill Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Clyde Hurt, Tommy Nolan, R. H. Alderson, Edgar Peeples, A. G. Williams and Hoyle T Thompson.
