Montgomery Standard, Montgomery County, Montgomery City, Missouri, 11 January 1973 Services For Mrs. Nettie Bishop. Nettie Ellen Bishop, 74, died Wednesday, January 3 at Audrain Medical Center in Mexico where she had been a patient for two and a half weeks. Funeral services were held at Jones Funeral Home in Bellflower Saturday, January 6 with the Rev. Thomas Smith officiating. Burial at Montgomery City. Mrs. Bishop was born January 29, 1898, at Martinsburg, Mo., daughter of the late Thomas J. and Laura (Taylor) Bishop of Martinsburg and New Florence. She is survived by her husband John R. Bishop of Bellflower, a son Joseph J. Bishop of Evansville, Ind.; a daughter Jeannette R. Smart of Bellflower; three grandsons, Michael Bishop of Boulder, Colo.; John Richard Bishop III of Evansville, Ind.; Dallas R. Smart, Jr. of Bellflower; Three granddaughters, Karen Ohrburg of Bellflower; Diana Williams and Christina Marie Smart of Bellflower; two great grandchildren, Kelly Marie and Phillip Todd Williams of Bellflower; a brother Neal Bishop of New Florence; five sisters, Mrs, Noami Trowbridge of Catlettsburg, Ky.; Mrs. Ruth Cunningham, Montgomery City; Flossie Kobush of Mineola; Mrs. Maurene Covington and Mrs. Elizabeth Hastings of Shelbina, Mo., cousins Mrs. Sara Ham of Montgomery City, and Claude Bishop of Wellsville, nieces and nephews.
