Moberly Monitor, Randolph County, Moberly, Missouri, 1 May 1971 Mrs. Martin Jude Lyle. Funeral services were held today for Mrs. Martin Jude Lyle, 88, of Kansas City, at the Precht-Pickering Funeral Home at Mexico. Mrs. Lyle died at 10 a.m. Thursday after a long illness at the Victoria States Nursing Home at Kansas City. In Kansas City she had made her home with a son, Nova Lyle. Mrs. Lyle was the daughter of Andrew Meade Balfour and Rosella Manlove Balfour, and was born in Adams county, Ill., on Oct. 5, 1882. She lived at Mexico until about 1923, when she moved to Moberly. The last 20 years of her life she lived at Kansas City. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, and was the last of a family of eight children. Survivors are: three sons, Nova Lyle, Meade Lyle and Melvin Lyle all of Kansas City; two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Precht, Mexico, and Mrs. Fred Ess; six granddaughters; and one great-grandson. One great-grandson preceded her in death.
