Obituary Robert Lee White,
Chicago, Illinois, 27 Aug 1948

Vandalia Leader, Audrain County, Vandalia, Missouri, 2 September 1948

Lee R. White Died Suddenly In Chicago. Funeral rites were held for
Lee R. White who died suddenly at his home in Chicago, Friday, August 27.
Mr. White was a native of this county, the son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Doug White who owned a farm west of Farber about a mile which is now
owned by his daughter, Mrs. Cecil Pease and family. For many years he lived
in the Farber community and when he attained his majority he left for
Chicago where he was spent several years. He was an energetic young man and
was thorough in his analysis of his affairs. He has been a constant reader
of The Leader during his residence in Chicago and kept in touch with his old
home community, which we believe, was an admirable trait.
Funeral services were held by Rev. J. Wayne Kurtz and interment was
made in the Farber cemetery.
He is survived by three daughters and five sisters, Mrs. Ruth Lotton
and Mrs. Anna Moore of Alton, Ill., Mrs Elizabeth Sankpill of Oklahoma, Mrs.
Grace Bassnett of Kansas and Mrs. Cecil Pease of Farber. His wife and
daughter preceded him in death.
He was a veteran of World War I and was one of the number who braved
the danger and served his country in time of distress. He will be
remembered by many of our readers who lived here when he was a young man.
We join in extending sympathy to the bereaved relatives in their
