Alma Bishop Garrett the daughter of Wilford Granville and Mary Virginia Oliver Bishop was born December 9, 1909, in Montgomery City, Montgomery County, Missouri. She passed away November 14, 1980, at the age of 70. She was educated in the public schools of Montgomery City and Teachers College in Missouri. Taught in the Montgomery County and St. Louis County Schools for a number of years. She accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized in the Baptist Faith December, 1926. She was active in the work of the church and remained true to her Faith in the Lord. To her marriage were born four children, James Alfred, and George Marion Garrett of Liberty, Kentucky. An infant son and daughter passed away. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Patricia Kaye, Wilma Sue, George Dale, Mary Virginia, and David Marion Garrett of Liberty. Two daughter- in-laws Elizabeth Barlow Barrett and Charlotte Davis Garrett. Surviving are four brothers of Missouri and four sisters of Florida, Arkansas, Virginia and Missouri. Many relatives and friends in Missouri, Kentucky and elsewhere. She moved with her family to Liberty, Casey County, Kentucky in April, 1940 where she has since made her home on a farm in Green River Valley Community. She was a devoted ... in the Heavenly Home. Services were held at Bartle Funeral Home, conducted by Richie Curtis. Interment was in Salem Cemetery beside her infant son and daughter.
