Mexico Evening Ledger, Mexico, Missouri, 17 May 1957 Mrs. Emma C. Bishop Dies Thursday. Laddonia - Mrs. Emma C. Bishop, 91, died at 2:45 pm Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.B. Peterson [Wyss] of Laddonia, Route 3. Funeral services will be held at the Arnold Funeral Home in Mexico at 1 p.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Darrell Phillips, pastor of the Community Church in Martinsburg. Burial will be in the Liberty Christian Church Cemetery. Music for the service will be provided by Mrs. John W. Willer, organist, and Mrs. O.D. Austin, vocalist. Born in Macon County on Feb. 28, 1866, Mrs. Bishop was the daughter of Richard and Catherine Waller Lyle. She was married to Sinclair Bishop, who died in 1918. Survivors other than her daughter with whom she made her home include another daughter, Mrs. Ruth Coe of Springfield, Ill.; one son, Frank L. Bishop of St Charles; one sister Mrs. Anna Waller, of Marshall; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
